What a terrific place to come and hob-nob with the locals. The owner is always looking for new and delightful things to offer customers, and everybody's favorite addition this summer was lobster rolls. My better two-thirds and I spent three days in Maine last week, and we all had "lobsta" rolls every day for lunch. We concluded the rolls we can get every Friday at the Trading Post are as good and as reasonably priced as any we had in Maine.

Having summered in Long Lake most of my life, over the years I've eaten in just about all of the incarnations of the various restaurants this hamlet has had to offer. Sadly, good eats are almost non-existent in this rustic hamlet. BUT if you want some delicious and original homemade soups and sandwiches, come on by the ADK Trading Post. In one corner of the space, Vickie, the owner, has an old oval dining table set up with some comfy, solid chairs just waiting for one to take a load off and enjoy breakfast or lunch. A great place to find out what's going on in the area, both from Vickie and from local folks who frequent it, or hang out there while doing your wash next door at the laundromat as many a hiker or camper will do. As the previous review states, this is a genuine trading post, with excellent quality and value, a store which offers locally hard to find ingredients : jams, confits, pestos, a big glass jar of some fine quality beef jerky waiting to be chawed upon, terrific stuff from Oscar's in Warrensburg, and the BEST coffee beans. If you don't want to eat the typical heated up frozen food off of the Cisco truck (the usual local cuisine) definitely come out to the Trading Post! Free WiFi available, too.

Stumbled on this genuine trading post. Being in a remote area, I was not expecting what I found - startlingly great food. Sandwiches and soups are as good as you will find anywhere, not just at a trading post on a quiet stretch of mountain roadway. Quality and value are absolutely beyond anything you will find in the area. The prices are extremely reasonable. I've been back six times now. Great to eat in or load up on sandwiches for for hiking, skiing, boating, camping trips. The owner (Vicky) is also very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable of local things to do.
