I live in Kinderhook and this place is great for not just for apples. I buy my Xmas tree here every year, homegrown fruits and veggies, ice cream and frozen yogurt. They raise free range chickens out back of the store and frozen grass fed organic meats in the store year round.

I moved from Kinderhook to the east coast of Florida and while the beach is heavenly, I miss the apples, cider, and colored leaves of Autumn. Whenever I can, I come back up and head for Samascott's for an apple fritter and hot cider. Their pies are wonderful, too. Apple butter and jelly and maple syrup always find their way into my suitcase as well. And for the entire time I'm up there, my main beverage is fresh apple cider - warm or cold, it's nectar of the Gods!

My husband and I ride our bikes to the orchard. We have a great time driving past the orchards and fields and picking what is currently in season. They have apples pears plums cherries raspberries strawberries blackberries blueberries peaches. Not to mention the variety of vegetables. The pick your own is great.

I have come a few times to purchase apples and other treats (they are the best orchard around for staymen apples which are especially delicious) and I have always found the fruit to be terrific - fresh and great prices. Cannot say the same for their fudge - I made the mistake of buying about 4 lbs last year and it was stale and icky - but I go back because I love their apples and it is always a treat to go into the orchards. All of their produce is fresh and wonderful - I always go overboard and spend way too much but I have treats that last for ages. Highly recommend.

Samascotts' is wonderful! It is a family owned business that has worked hard and endured through several generations, bringing well marketed and fresh products to the present. We are so fortunate to have them in Kinderhook!

I always go to SamAScott for strawberries and blueberries. There are so many fields there are always tons of berries for everyone. The shop makes a delicious blueberry milkshake too! Highly recommended over the other farms in the Albany area.

This place is awesome during the growing season! They grow about everything you can imagine from bush and tree fruit to veggies and even pigs and cows. My friends, kids and I really enjoyed spending a few hours this past weekend walking through the fields picking strawberries and snap peas. The kids learned a lot just seeing things at the source. We arrived too early in the season for a lot of crops- corn, broccoli, cherries etc but there's really nothing like fresh from the field, sun-ripened strawberries so it was still worth the trip! The Pick Your Own prices are super affordable too, cheaper than at the grocery store and 100x times better tasting. At check-out we learned that the farm also has a Garden Market- part nursery and part grocery store- located just a mile away. We stopped by on our way out of town for homemade ice cream and farm eggs (we could see the chickens in the fields). We also learned they have a corn maze in the fall... the kids will definitely demand a return trip for that!A visit here is a great option for an outside day of fun, a much more enjoyable than normal "grocery shopping" trip and even a little farm education for the kiddos.

We went last year. 2012 was a very bad year for apples. However in a normal year this place is great. Many different varieties to pick as well as pears, pumpkins and squash. Get some cider and cider dougnuts on the way out.

Orchards are very nice and have a variety of berries and veggies, but service is very poor. Checkout girl was mean.

Friendly staff as well. Pick your own or let them do it.
