Good acting, interesting play in a rustic theater. You have to know where you're going because it's in the middle of nowhere. They have a tavern/cabaret where things happen.

If you want to laugh until tears leak out of your eyeballs, 'Le Cage Aux Folles' at the Forestburgh Playhouse is where you want to be! Pilar and I were at the show tonight and frankly we haven't laughed that much in quite a while!!! It was just plain fun! Though all the actors and actresses did a magnificent job, some extra kudos must go out to Jose Luaces (Jacob the butler/maid) for every time he stepped on that stage he practically stole the show! We will be attending a showing of 'The Chosen' at the Playhouse next weekend and after what we experienced tonight (easily rivals and surpasses NYC's Broadway with their super talents) we expect nothing less than the perfection we found tonight! Bravo Forestburgh Playhouse!Killer line of the night: "Have some respect for a poor homeless....widow," -Jacob (Jose Luaces)

Just came from another great play presented by the Forestburgh Playhouse. This has been a wonderful season of presentations, so far. The playhouse is rustic and some of the seats are old but the presentations are energetic and chock full of talent. Loretta Switt was in two of the shows. This season has been musical shows and the music is always live, not canned. After the show you can attend the cabaret, limited menu but large entertainment. Over all it is a great night out.

My friends and I attended 2 shows at FP and had a wonderful experience. Best part, it was local and easy. Had dinner and Caberet show after the matinee. Food was very good and the ensemble was fun. Starring Loretta Swit and Carolann Page. Hilarious! Great casting

The talent of these young aspiring actors at The Forestburgh Playhouse will remain in my mind for a very long time. These young adults literally are in rehearsal all day for the upcoming show and performing a different show in the evening. Every two weeks; it is a new show and always spectacular: a true sign of a successful talented group! We went to 6 performances this summer; all of which were top-notch!

Took in a matinee performance of "Grease" at the Forestburgh Playhouse. A wonderful performance by a combination of professional actors and resident actors made up of recently graduated or current college theatre students. The cast brought a ton of enthusiasm to the show and captured the audience that was made of all age groups - everyone was tapping their feet and enjoying the experience. There is not a bad seat in the house. An extra treat is the outdoor gardens and seating which is a great place to wait for the doors to open on a sunny Summer afternoon. There is also a tavern on the grounds for a preshow/intermission drink and snack - did not have a chance to try it.

We were expecting mediocre performances, but were very pleasantly surprised. Cast members had terrific voices - not a lemon among them. Only downside was small parking lot. Suggest parking on the road if you can. Not to be missed.

My mother and I went on the opening night of Grease. The show was GREAT! The acting and singing was excellent. I made great friends with Sasha (the dog that frequents the establishment). I sat in F111 and my mother in F112. My chair was broken, which caused me to have back pain 1/2 way into the show. Luckily, the seat next to me was vacant and I switched to that one. There were two ladies seats away from me and one of their seats was broken as well (and she too complained of pain). I had a fantastic view of the stage. I really hope they fix the broken seats and upgrade the place a little because this place really has some excellent talent.

Love the shows at the Forestburgh Playhouse. The quality is Broadway quality but at a much lower price, small venue and close to home. The actors are fabulous, the shows are so well done. This season they have done Spamalot, Grease, South Pacific, The Odd Couple, Nine to Five and the thirty nine steps. All seats are good seats. There is a Cabaret and dinner (buffet) before the shows on Tuesday through Thursday and on weekends it follows the main show. There is a theme to each Cabaret which runs with each main production. These are fun shows too. The theater is only open June-labor day. Air-conditioned and comfortable seating.

The acting and singing was great. The theater is comfortable and everyone there enjoyed the show and gave the actors a standing ovation. I look forward to returning to the Forestburg Theater next year for another show and a good time. I heartily reccomend this theater to everyone looking for a great time.

The actors are fantastic, the atmosphere is very pleasant-especially since it has A,C., & if you stay for the cabaret the entertainment is professional & thoroughly enjoyable.

It's such a small place, yet feels like you could be down in NYC with such intense performance. Seriously, there isn't a bad seat in the house, and the actors are all HUNGRY so they give great performances. I've gone to many over the years, and you NEVER see anyone mailing it in. It's such a pleasure to go, and I can't wait to go again this summer!
