Bay side Marina provides a marina which is the good part. The not so good part is its very tight. Right on the Cross Island Parkway, it tough to park not to mention access.

the only thing I don't like is that it's parallel to the Cross Island Parkway. Hard to park but pretty waterfront. There's a lot of potential there.

The Bayside Marina provides a great view when you are looking for a place to relax in the bustling city of New York. Car traffic from th nearby highway can disrupt the nice view of the water.

The marina holds a fishing derby every year for children. Tons of fun!!! Beautiful views, too! Pack a lunch, some fishing poles and you can hang out on the grass, check out the boats and scenery and catch some fish!!!

This marina is north of Northern Blvd. on the Cross Island Parkway (CIP) northbound. It's accessible by car (take the north bound CIP), stay in the right lane, and exit into the small parking lot. Parking in the lot is by permit only. The marina is the home of hundreds of boats during the boating season. You can also access it via the pedestrian bridge on the east end of 28th Ave (east of 216 St), or by walking or biking south from Fort Totten or North from Northern Blvd.During the summer season there's a little shop that sells snacks and rest rooms. You can fish off the marina. For most of the season, my family caught seaweed. But, in September, there were baby blue fish running. They actually made it to the dinner table. The other fisherman are cordial and the experience is very kid friendly.

Well, you don't really park there. There in "no parking" sign. It's by permit only like so many things in New York. However, if you walk there of walk by the marina, it's great. The pier is a place for people who fish and catch crabs. You don't go there for coffee. It's not a restaurant, just a small place where you can get stuff. Frankly, I never have. There is not why we go there. We go there to see beautiful Bay and watch swans and ducks and other birds if they happen to be there at the same time. It's nature. It's not a restaurant.

The first thing to be aware of is the '1-2-3' tow truck that is lurking just out of sight. He's there to hook your car up and make a quick $67.00...that is if you're lucky enough to catch him before he takes your car...$250..or more if you're not. The Marina cafe itself (I'm being kind here...it's not a cafe, it's a food stand and the food really sucks, is overpriced, and can and will make you sick...as it did me.The tow truck acts in cahoots with the owners of the marina food stand and the owners take a share of the fees collected by Mr. '1-2-3 Towing'. And they do quite a buisiness on a nece day. I've seen the tow truck take over 4 cars in an 60 minute period....so you do the math. If you don't believe me check out the complaints about this place on Yelp.I WILL NOT EVER GO THERE AGAIN!
