We didn't spend a lot of time there, as it was a later stop on our wine tour.They have a huge selection of fruit inspired wines. One stood out ...Heart of Gold Apricot wine is amazing....it's like drinking tangy and sweet apricots...it's a little pricey at 15.99, but worth every penny!

We visited on 10/10/14. The building is very pretty and they have a wide variety of wine. The girl who helped us was very nice and we brought home a bottle. The house that holds the winery is very pretty from the road and worthy of taking pictures and if we'd had more room in our suitcases, we probably would have bought more wine!

Beautiful Manor Home complete with it's own ghost! Paid a little extra to get the souvenier wine glass. If you like fruit wines, this is a "must do" winery. Be sure to ask about the ghost and hear the story during your wine tasting.

We went to 5 "wineries" on the Niagara Wine Trail as part of our Travel Zoo promotional package with our stay at the Sheraton At The Falls June 28, 29.I've written lots of reviews, not many of which are negative. I always justify my ratings.Marjim Manor was our 5th stop.Strangely enough, I read reviews about this beautiful building having a haunted reputation, but the staff we met had no clue about that aspect of the building.It was certainly the prettiest of all wineries we visited on the Trail that day, but lacked the most in wine and service.The place was empty when we arrived. Staff was friendly and eager to serve us samples, but I had to ask for something to cleanse my palate between "tastings" and we had a bag of Ritz crackers dumped onto a tupperware container for us to use. They should have offered bland, plain "Carr's Table Water Crackers" instead.They rinsed our glass with WATER, before pouring a new/different sample = a big no-no for wine tasting.There was a very poor selection of wines available, most were 'fruit' wines not made from grapes. However, the wines did not taste like the fruits they were made from.The 'wines' weren't more than fermented juice, they smelled GREAT, but nearly all of the different wines we tried tasted the same: like LEMON JUICE.SO DISAPPOINTING for such a beautiful set up.YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!I learned that a lot of the wineries on this Trail were new, with young vines.I would describe these wineries as small 'Mom and Pop' operations; just big enough to engage in public tastings and bottling, but no where big enough to make a product I would like to have served to me, even at a 3.5 Star restaurant.We had to drive ourselves around this tour.It was not worth the hassle and fees to book a "limo" to drive our butts around to these "wineries" when we were only saving about $50 in wine tasting fees. On the contrary, it seemed a bit risky to get looped while driving yourself to and from these tastings.Give these places a few years to refine their grapes and practices.Do yourself a favour and drive the extra 30 minutes into Canada and go to established, experienced wineries in Niagara On The Lake where you can find plentiful, affordable, transportation for your tour, and better yet, where you can taste real wine, not vinegar.

This is a great deal - it's $5 for 4 tastings, including a glass. I believe you can do a tasting without the keepsake glass for $3/4 tastings.It's really pretty up here, and they have a large wine selection. This winery does seem to have more of a selection of dry wines, but still plenty of sweet. I find that many of the wineries in the Niagara region focus on sweet because of the types of grapes in this area.Anyways! Marjim Manor has a cool ghost story that goes with it, if you are lucky enough to hear it. I have been here multiple times, and it's always fun. This time though, it was too busy, and the employees didn't tell it (darn!). They do have 2 separate tasting rooms, and usually offer some kind of fondue or cheese spread you can try while you are there as well.This is also in the cluster of wineries up by the lake, and I always enjoy this stop! In the summer time they even have some cute cats lounging in the sun and along the porch.

Was visiting the area and friend suggested we go to this winery. It is one of the best ones in the area and the setting is lovely. There is a good selection of wines with good prices.

The ride to this fascinating stop on the wine trail is nothing short of relaxing. The beautiful countryside has a way of relaxing me has I drive to one of my favorite destinations on the Wine Trail.When driving on Hwy 18, you see a lot of beautiful scenery. Then, you see this magnificent mansion looming ahead has you arrive at the Wineries driveway. The grounds are beautifully maintained and quite colorful.Marjim is a definite MUST for your visit to the Niagara region. You are greatly by friendly folks who are willing to share a story or two, and the wine is very different has it is all fruit wines....not grapes like we're used to.Come on out and see for yourself! You will be pleasantly surprised!!

very bad experience the man at back bar was rude very disappointed will never return or anyone else that was in our group we were there on 5-11-13 he more less told us to be quiet and the man at the door was rude also

While wandering the Niagara Wine Trail, we just had to stop at the one that claims to be haunted. We were greated on a very sunny day by the cat that lives there. We were allowed four free tastes. They specialize in sweet fruity wines and many made their way home with us to help fill the rack. Let me recommend the 100 Window. We wandered the lower floor of this beautiful old building, but did not have any ghost sightings. I guess we will have to go back!

We chose to stay at the Brookins Inns at Newfane and go to the Marjim Winery for the Valentines Dinner. We had been to the Marjim Winery before and really enjoyed the wines as well as the historic building. On arriving we were seated in a room located off to the left of the main room and it was decorated really nicely with candles etc. It ended up that we had this room all to ourselves the whole night as no one else was seated there which made for a really intimate dinner! They had a piano player who was great and played some really nice songs. The first course was the brie soup which we weren't to sure about but turned out to be really good. Then we had a salad which good as well. My girlfriend got the stuffed fish for her main and I got the beef. Her fish was amazing and was done perfectly. My only compliant was my beef was overdone and kind of tough, also the potatoes were bland and the veggies were of the frozen variety that come out of a bag. The dessert made up for this as they had actually made fresh mousse with fresh fruit that was really good. The servers were really nice and kept the wine flowing which was great. At the end of the evening we were given free wine glasses and a bottle of wine to take back to the B & B. Overall we loved the experience of dinning here and the whole ambiance was terrific! We ended up buying another 3 bottles of wine to go home with because they were so good. I would definitely recommend this as a great night out and great value for money!

This was a lot of fun. The owner, Margo, told us the stories about the spirits in the mansion. We also did the wine tasting, but the wines were a bit too fruity for my taste. The atmosphere was wonderful.

This winery grows all the fruit they use in their wines. They do not grow their own grapes. All the wines we tasted had a fruit flavor. If you like this taste in a wine you will like their wines.

We visited Marjim on Sat, June 23rd/ 2012.......we found it by accident, and we're glad we did. We were visiting the Youngstown area of NY, and were just out for a drive.The wines are not your contemporary Red and White Grape variety, but produced from locally grown fruits (apple / pear / peach / apricots etc)...... the winery is located in a 19th century country house, with apparently, many ghost storires. Ghost Hunters Int. filmed an episode in the building.To the wines...... they were quite refreshing. We felt there was great value in the tastings that we bought. The young lady behind the wine bar was very knowledgable, and quite pleasant.The lady (who i think was the owner), was very friendly as well, and we felt quite at home.......After our tasting (we did purchase a bottle..... "Thursday afternoon at 3"), we sat off to the side of the manor, and made some sandwiches out of the cooler we had brought.All in all, a nice trip down Lake Road from Youngstown!

I have been to Marjim Manor a few times and it never fails to live up to expetations. I recently went with a group from my office and all had an excellent time. They do charge about $1.00 extra for the wine glass, but you get to take it home with you. There are days when they tell ghost stories to the visitors... It was the last stop on our tour and we really enjoyed the free coffee that was offered. This place is a MUST on any Niagara Wine tour!!!!!!

There are around 16 wineries on the Niagara Wine Trail. Of the 16 this is easily one of our favorite stops when doing the trail. Marjim Manor mainly has fruit wines that tend to lean towards the sweeter side. My favorite is their Cranberry Crescendo. There are so many good wines here that we never leave without picking up several bottles. Living not too far from the area we frequently spend a few Saturdays a year hitting the wine trail. We occasionally invite another couple along with us. We have yet to find anyone that did not enjoy the wines here. The staff is always friendly and entertaining. The Manor is supposedly haunted and the staff will tell you ghost stories if you ask. If you like cats, their cat is usually sitting by the front door greeting all who enter. He or she is very friendly and enjoys whatever attention you give it. The Winery at Marjim Manor is open all year and definetly worth checking out if you are doing the trail or just in the area.
