The trail is partially on paths and roads. The roads don't always have good shoulders so we usually stick to the sections with better roads. The trail can be almost deserted in spots so it is important to be careful of your surroundings and use in pairs.

Paved and dirt trails so you can use a wheel chair in many places. Clean and very safe feeling; the views of the river are nice and there is places you can walk into to sit and watch nature.

Excellent trail. A lot of history and the price is right..free. Bring snacks and water as they are not many places to buy items. The scenery is awesome.

This is part of a series of bike paths (also walking paths) that go from downtown Buffalo to the end of this trail at New Road. The paths aren't all connected, but are reachable with relatively very little biking on little used roads. This section goes along Tonawanda Creek and the Erie Barge Canal. It's a pleasant bike ride, or walk, and relaxing. This section is about 4 miles long and ends at Tonawanda Creek Road and Sweet Home Road in Amherst.
