The horses looked to be well kept. Our guide was very nice and took care of our group. The views were beautiful. Saw some coyotes nearby. Went on the 2 hours ride. Would highly recommend.

We've ridden with NPGS several times over the years. Sometimes it was my husband and I, our children when they were younger, and with friends. All with varying degrees of riding knowledge. We've done 2hr. rides, 4hr, 6hr, and a 9hr. We've always had a great trip. The guides are always wonderful and the horses are well taken care of. The guides point out and name the different spots, peaks that you pass. Tell stories and jokes. Stop for pictures. And make sure everyone is alright all along the trip. On our longest ride, it was just my husband, myself, and our guide. On our way back down there was a horrible hiking accident ahead of us. We were unable to go around and the detour route was too hard for the horses. We had to wait for the paramedics to hike in and then out with the hiker. Our guide helped us off our horses and tied them up along the trail. She offered to let us hike on back ourselves while she waited with the horses and then she was going to take them down herself. We declined and told her we'd help her watch the 3 of them and then ride back with her. It was over an hour long wait and getting dark by the time we got back. Everyone apologized and were just so incredibly nice. It was an unfortunate accident that was no one's fault and the NPGS still went out of their way to apologize. I would most certainly recommend this group to anyone wanting to ride through RMNP. They are the best!

The guide was very happy and talkative. My horse was comfortable and calm. The scenery was breathtaking! For two hours we walked over and around rocks, trees, valleys, meadows and a stream. We heard Elk calling and actually saw one on the trail. This may be an intimidating ride at certain points for a beginner but the horses were well trained and relaxed.

Loved seeing the leaves turning colors and the wildlife. Because of the time of year, lots of people parked along the road to see the wildlife, so it was difficult at times to get around them.

The ride was beauiful. The fall leaves were so pretty. My horse "Joker" was well behaved. We enjoyed it so much that wish we would have went on a longer ride.

My sister and I consider Estes Park our home away from home, as we've been vacationing there since we were kids. It had been many years, however, since we had been on a trail ride - as our aching legs could attest. Despite the aches, our recent experience at this stable was so enjoyable that it inspired us to commit to a day of riding here on every future vacation. Much of the credit for our wonderful experience goes to our fantastic trail guide, Sarah Robbins. She was knowledgeable, patient, funny, and a terribly good sport. While foolishly attempting to take a photograph on my still-moving mount, I managed to drop my camera. Before I could even ask, Sarah had dismounted and retrieved it for me. At the end of our two hour ride, I was wishing that my legs could handle another two hours.

decided to take the 6 hour horseback ride which was only my 3 time on a horse. Going up a narrow mountain on a horse was very terrifying but I did it. My body was aching all the way down and I had a difficult time moving by the time I got off the horse but it's all in the fault of the rider on how long you choose your ride.

They were great. We were there for a family wedding so it was a large g.roup, we went on the two hour ride. They divided us into two groups, patiently answered all the young kids questions and got everyone a horse according to their riding ability. The scenery was lovely and we rode by a herd of elk which were breath taking. If back in the area will go again hopefully taking the 6 hour ride to Deer Mountain

Actually the visit was July 2006 but that wasn't given as an coption. Came with my then 10 and 11 year old girls. They really enjoyed the ride and still talk about it 8 years later.

Our family of four agrees this was the best horseback riding trip we've ever been on. There are lots of stables near Rocky Mtn Nat Park so make sure you get this particular one. We took the two hour ride at 4pm and it was the perfect amount of time. Our 15 and 25 yr old daughters are fairly beginner riders whereas my husband and I grew up riding horses. But all four of us had an equally amazing experience with this stable. There was also a woman on our trip who had never ridden before in her life - she also did just fine. The woman choosing our horses and getting them ready for us (Monica I think) did an excellent job of matching horses to riders. Each of us felt they had the perfect horse for them. Our guide, Sarah, was attentive to everyone's skills and comfort level, stopping a couple times even to make sure all the saddles were still on correctly and that everyone was safe.We heard elk bugling, saw a very large elk fairly close up, saw several deer and wild turkeys. Sarah had a lot of information on the area with interesting facts about the trees, mountains and wildlife. We had an amazing time and saw parts of this area not accessible by hiking or driving. Highly recommend.

Booked for a 6 hour ride. As we love riding and It didn't disappoint. The guide Laura was lovely. Told us all about RMNP and the wild life. We were only 30 minutes into our ride and came across 2 bull Elks. Which was awesome. Chester my husbands horse and lucky red man was mine. They were sure footed, well mannered and clearly well looked after. A pleasure to ride. The trail ride for us was fantastic and the vistas were breathtaking although perhaps not suited for a novice rider. But would definitely recommend this company. Thanks Laura. X

My husband and I decided to go horseback riding for the first time in 30 years. We went to Moraine stables in the Rocky Mountain National Park. Christopher James was our guide and we could not have had a more wonderful trip. Chris stopped every half hour or so to check on each rider and made sure we were all comfortable. My husband started feeling some pain in his legs and back about halfway through the trip. Chris talked him through a few things, adjusted his stirrups, let him get off for a minute to walk around and in general, just made the whole experience great!! My husband has back issues, so it was not the ride, just a question of someone making him comfortable in the saddle. Chris, we had a great ride and will do it again when next we visit. Hope to see you there!!

This was one of the two most memorable experiences of our trip to Colorado (the other was the Durango-Silverton train). My husband grew up riding horses, but I did not, and I'm always a little leery of these trail rides. It doesn't help that on the first one I attempted years ago, I was given an unruly horse. However, this experience was wonderful; the horses were matched to our size and abilities, and our guide was very attentive throughout the two-hour ride. The great highlight was riding so close to mule deer and elk in the park. When it started to rain, there were rain slickers packed on each horse so that we didn't get soaked. Everything about this was first-rate; the folks who work at these stables really are expert at what they do.
