This place had a nice smelling cafe next to the shop and wine tasting. The shop had lots of good things to look at but extremely expensive. All of the wines were blends and there was only one we sort of liked but didn't love it.

Love these folks and the great wine they make and share!! Don't pass up an opportunity to visit them, taste some spectacular wines and stock up! Delightful!!

Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful employee. Great wine. Fantastic restaurant, sat on the deck listening to the river.

It's nice to not have to pay to taste wines you may or may not like. It's great to see a company offer the tastings for free to sell their product. The winery was a little out of the way from the main North/South route and is a little west of Salida. It was nice because we were the only ones there when we stopped so we didn't have to contend with the crowds in town. They don't grow any of their own grapes. All were purchased from other locations and then the wines were made there on site. They have a very simple set up. When you walk in you can see where the wine is made and they have a small counter for tasting and that's about it. Nothing fancy. We checked them out online before making plans to travel out of the way, but we like sweet wines and they offered a decent selection. We purchased 3 different wines to take home. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Even made good suggestions of what to do it town. We enjoyed the stop.

This lovely little winery is just a short drive outside of Salida and offers some great wine tasting! I like my wine and enjoyed a wonderful wine chat with the very knowledgeable Cellar Assistant. The Blackberry Chardonnay was a special treat--such fruit to the front!!! I also enjoyed the tasty Merlot Raspberry. Mountain Spirit fruit wines are all made with Colorado fruit. The Cellar Assistant also clued me in that in winter 2012 the winery will be unveiling an apricot wine. I wish I lived nearby so I could taste it and admire the beautiful color. What a treat also to talk with the owner and watch him begin a filtering process. I loved seeing him working in his Crocs! Wine making is such a sticky business! There is a also a Mountain Spirit Winery tasting room in downtown Salida where you can get a good taste of the lovely wine but the winery itself is the real deal.

Good value. Enjoyable experience. Makes me want to visit their winery. Convenient location for wine tasting in town.

Nothing but likes here....pretty hard to beat good wine at the right price! This was the first wine tasting we had ever had where they didn't charge you....To top it off the gentleman serving was very nice, and the wine was excellent! A must stop about half way between Salida and Monarch,CO.

We visited here on a recommendation from my in-laws. They are small but the staff is very friendly. Their wines are bright and crisp, very refreshing. It's not the best wine I've ever had, but I did enjoy their fruit/grape wine blends. They are generous in their sample sizes and also in their hospitality. Go there definitely to try something different... Best not to bring the wine snobs with you, though. ;-) We decided to join their wine club.

We were excited to visit this wine tasting room on our visit to Salida, and ended up purchasing a couple bottles of the unique fruity wines--our concern wasn't with the wines themselves. However, our wine tasting experience was not very positive. The person who was in charge was very scattered and did nothing to help us learn about what we were tasting. We had a group of 5, and there was no sequence to the presentation, no conversation about the wines, and we had the sense that wine tasters were an annoyance. We observed the same thing happening to a group of 3 nearby with a different employee, so it appeared to be accepted behavior. If you are going to market yourselves as having a wine-tasting room, then it seems there should be a more positive tone. The room is coupled with a retail shop, offering a number of gift items, and that also created a bit of a frenzied atmosphere. I would return once more, to see if it was an usual day.
