Booked a rafting trip by RIGS in Ridgway and we were not disappointed. The whole experience was excellent and very professional and well worth the cost. All of the staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and I would use them again the next time I'm in Ridgway.

Last weekend my family of five and I went on what was suppose to be a "float trip"down the Uncompahgre. Half way into the "safety talk" I realized I had signed up for more than a "float trip". Our guide was a really charming young man named ORION, it was his last trip down the river for the summer before going back to school for skiing, so, we all tried to be as rambunctious as humanly possible. My mom and I were in the front and we were given commands of when and how to rho. It was a bonding activity, having to work as a team. Everyone appreciated my enthusiastic and powerful steering! A splash fight broke between our boat and the other group as we reached the bottom of a terrifying 2 foot white water drop off. ( They looked hot, what can I say) It was definitely way more fun than I really planned on having and still makes me grin when I think about it. Thank you Ridgway Independent Pirate Service aka RIGS. You all made my extended-family vacation into the "best extended-family vacation ever". Sincerely, J. C. SOM TEAM

When talking on the phone with an employee my booking experience was very pleasant. Showing up to the Fly shop and checking-in was an easy experience. Overall the rafting experience was mild and small children could easily ride this river. Because my group is in their mid-20s we were expecting bigger rapids, but it was mostly just a float for about 2 hours and 45 minutes. Our guide was information and surely enhanced the trip.

We took the half day rafting trip in the Uncompahgre river between Ridgway and Montrose. We have been up and down Hwy 550 countless times between these 2 towns but I have to say that it's a totally different world in the river. RIGS did a great job of getting us set up for our day on the river and our guide made it even more fun. All 6 of us were entry level paddlers but RIGS gave us everything we needed to make it very fun for my family and my sister-in-law's family who were visiting from Missouri. Our guide navigated us successfully with us doing plenty of the work - which is why we chose this activity. We wanted to enjoy a part of Colorado doing something we never did before and RIGS delivered. Thank you RIGS for offering this kind of activity in our area and thank you for making this such an enjoyable experience. I appreciate the class II intro this trip offered and we'll be back to get into class III rapids next time!

My family took the rafting trip. We also hired an instructor to meet us at Ridgway State Park for Standind Paddle Boards. Both were fantastic. Highly recommended.

We recently took a 1/2 day rafting trip with RIGS outfitters in Ridgway, CO, and it was great! Their guides are knowledgeable and helpful and our guide, Jason, was lots of fun too. They take their jobs seriously, which is good when someone goes overboard (1 man did during our trip), but all turned out well. We will DEFINITELY go back to RIGS next time in CO for a whole day trip and maybe a fishing trip too--the grandsons would love that!

First ever rafting experience today on the San Miguel River with RIGS out of Ridgeway was terrific. Half day trip put in south of the Telluride split and traveled 10 miles over 2 1/2 hours. Perfect trip for newbies. Just enough white water to make it a challenge. Just wet enough to make it fun. Staff led by Tim did a great job of matching us with the right trip. Beautiful scenery and water. Enough paddling to make us feel like we were doing much more than just riding along. Cost seemed totally reasonable. Outfitting, putting in and taking out and transportation were a breeze. The ride through the Dallas Divide was scenic to say the least. Everything was done with professionalism and concern for the raftees. Safety and paddling instructions were on point and efficient. Snacks at the end were both unexpected and appreciated. Orion was our guide and made us feel comfortable, safe and appreciated - part technician, part historian part cheerleader. All in all a great day on the river.

We are mortified to hear that one of our employees would act like this. RIGS does not condone this kind of behavior nor would we want anyone, male or female, to receive this kind of treatment. Our employees are known for being friendly and helpful (if you read some of our other reviews). We would love to be able to make this right but on Trip Advisor vs Yelp, we cannot communicate directly with the client. Lisa if you happen to read this, we would love to learn more about who you spoke with so we can address this type of behavior immediately.Sincerely, Heather P. Co-Owner

We are happy to hear you had a great experience! Fishing can be tough when you are starting out, so do not give up. Our policy of guide to client ratio (no more than 3 clients to 1 guide) is in place to insure that the customer gets the most professional guiding experience available. We want you to leave with a new skill as well as a good experience. Additionally, this industry standard insures that everyone gets some one on one time with the guide; an essential element to learning any new skill or sport. Sincerely, Tim Patterson

A good friend and I took a three-day flyfishing trip with RIGS Adventure Fly Shop and Guide Service. The trip was down the Gunnison River Gorge. We met early in the morning in May hopeful that we would be flyfishing during the peak of the salmon fly hatch. When we arrived at the trail head we took our gear bag and hiked .9 miles down to the Gunnison River. There we met the rest of the guides, were assigned a inflatable raft. The rafts contain two clients and one guide. Each day included flyfishing, mostly from the raft. RIGS supplied outstanding lunches and dinners along with outstanding guides. Everyone busted their butts trying to put us onto feeding trout, which is all we could ever ask. The Gorge was beautiful as was the Gunnison River. Bottomline, I go again in a heart beat.
