Such a fantastic time at a quaint museum that spans millions of years! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very interesting! Definitely worth a visit.

This is a great little museum. It is rather small, but they focus on fossils found only from the Morrison/Dinosaur Ridge area which is pretty cool. Make sure to go upstairs and check out what the paleontologists are working on. Chances are good they will let your kids put on some safety goggles and help them out!The only reason this is not 5 stars is that I think it is a little pricey if you pay full price for your ticket. Look for a groupon, living social, or other promotion to get a lower ticket price.Plan on leaving strollers in the car. There are two stories and no elevator in the building. The building is small and you don't need it anyway. I don't believe the second story is wheelchair accessible. Also, there is no food for purchase and most of the restaurants in Morrison are either not kid friendly or just not good food, so pack a lunch. There are a few picnic tables outside of the museum or you can take a short drive to Red Rocks and eat there if there is no event going on.

It's a small-looking place and unimpressive from the outside. But step inside and you are instantly taken back in time! There are huge, real fossils which comprise a T-Rex head, Apotosaurus, Triceratops, and more! I took my 8 year old and he absolutely loved it! We got a guided tour and learned so much. Very, very cool! They were working on a new fossil, and showed that to us, and then they even let my son use one of the tools and work on it too! So incredibly special. This is definitely a great place to go.

This museum is small, but if you are into dinosaurs, you shouldn't miss it. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. Especially take the tour. You will learn so much about the dinosaurs in the Morrison area and about dinosaurs in general.

with other reviewers. You get to touch real dinosaur fossils, not replicas. Museum is on outskirts of this small town (which has places to eat). Signs in town point the way.

Well presented casts of fossils and dedicated to earth's prehistory, the Museum houses many footprints, fossils and casts, many that really seem to get visitors thinking. Staff is rarely close by, although younger 'volunteers' pass through after school hours and on Saturdays. Dr. Robert Bakker spends some Saturdays here and was ready for a conversation. I purchased a membership last year, yet heard nothing during the year from the Museum. Their PR could use some professional touches.

When we pulled into the lot, we took a vote to decide if we should go in. It looked like a cabin that had "tourist trap rip-off" written all over it.We are SO glad we went in. The unique thing about this place is a tour guide will take you through it and discuss everything with you. When we got there, it was just my wife and I and our 8 and 9 year old.Ann was our tour guide. She started by getting our children's names and then it was one on one from there on out. She talked to them and explained everything in the museum so they would understand. She asked them questions and involved them every step of the tour. I have NEVER seen my kids so interested in a museum before!Another awesome aspect of this museum as opposed to others you may be used to is - everything is hands on! They allow you to touch 99% of everything in there. Feel it, touch it, hold it, it's all OK. She talked so the kids would understand, she moved on when they were ready, and she let them touch and hold everything. We lucked out with feedings, as it was time for the 7 foot snake to feed. We got to watch him eat 6 mice, one at a time.Along with the bones and skeletons of dinos, they had fossils and some live animals too. There is a large boulder that is being chipped away at that each one of us (by this time several new arrivals had joined our tour) was allowed a turn at chipping away at the rock to unearth the dinosaur bone already visible. We had a great time, spent more time at this museum than in some of the larger ones, and learned much more than we thought was possible. And so did our 8 year old boy and 9 year old girl. I don't know how the other tour guides rank, but I do know, that if you get Ann, you can't go wrong - you will learn a lot and have a great experience.

The museum staff and volunteers are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. It's a small museum, but there's lots to see and learn. Grandkids loved "drilling" for dinosaur bones.

Take the guided tour. It's worth it.Our guide was patient with the constant interruptions from my curious young scientists. He answered all their questions and let them touch everything. We touched fossils, bones, and snakes. We drilled on actual fossil dig. It brought science alive for my boys.Well worth our time and the price of admission.

If you like Dinosaur history, GO HERE! A small museum, but full of interesting things! AND, you get a chance to assist the scientists with locating fossils in the rock! The 2 story, small museum has great volunteers who guide you through the museum. It takes about 1-1.5 hours if you do the whole thing (including helping the onsite scientists).Found it very informative!!

This is a small and very specialized museum. It is great for the person/people who are into that - but its size and location don't offer much to others in the group who may not be as enthused about the bones. The staff were friendly and very willing to talk about the exhibits and answer questions.

A little overpriced, but a lot of things to see and learn about. That said, it's pretty small, but when the tour is finished, you have the option of petting a bull snake and searching for fossils in a huge sandbox outside. Would recommend

We took our 5 yr old there ,it 6$ for him and 8$ for adults which isn't bad but it was under construction and the tour takes about 1/2 hour you might stretch it out with a hike above the place but you can do that for free. The content is very interesting!

We took our 5 year old grandson and had more fun at the Morrison Museum than in any other place in Colorado. He loved the fossils and the paleontologist who took time to let him "help" drill out a rock they have been working on for two years. He watched as they feed the snakes and other reptiles and wanted his photo taken with all the different dinosaurs. We also were given a guided tour by a ranger who was very knowledgeable and allowed him to touch just about anything. Our grandson loved it and can't wait to go back. Perhaps fossil hunting in the warmer weather.

Sooo cute for kids, and it's packed a lot of educational value into a small space. There's a play area outside too.
