Th eLongmont Museum is a hidden treasure with wonderful community spirit. Especially for the day of the dead. Well worth a stop!

This is an intimate museum that will never overwhelm. It has local history and hosts traveling exhibits, from Audubon to Legos. My favorite is the yearly Day of The Dead Exhibit. Day of the Dead is a No Miss event! The little store is a great stop for interesting, cultural and educational gifts. I have not attended any music events and I know the museum is expanding. I love to go to the top of the museum into a circular room with large windows 360 degrees and see the mountains and plains. Here are nice places to sit and books to read. There are hands on exhibits for children.

Diarama exhibits illustrating western history are interesting and we enjoyed the special exhibit of Remington and Russell painting and sculpture. Interesting tower room with views to the mountains and costume materials for children. The addition of an auditorium and classroom space will enhance this special cultural center.

The museum is under construction for addition, so the space is limited right now. I did visit the permanent display about the history of the area and it was very informative.

Discovery days is an arts and craft filled hour for fun for kids. Miss Elaine does a stellar job picking fun crafts every week and using her experience it make sure kids of all ages are enjoying discovery days. Every week it is themed differently. Wed-Fri starting at 9.

This is a small museum under expansion construction. They have a permanent exhibit on the development of the West and currently a visiting exhibit of Remington & Russell western art -painting and bronze works.

Visited this exhibit honoring the day of the dead last year and again this year. Lots of fun, history, and art. Well worth the small admission fee. On the second floor is a genuine moon rock, and an expansive view of the Front Range is available on the third floor with panoramic windows. The museum has a new building being added which will include an acoustically designed concert hall, workshop space, and art galleries. It should be completed in 2015.

For a "small town" that contrasts the more "hip" Boulder down the road, Longmont has an amazing little museum that brings in the likes of Ansel Adams, Frederic Remington and Charles Russell, Graffiti art and even Legos! There is a permanent exhibit of Longmont history on one side and changing shows exhibit in the main gallery. They sponsor all sorts of interesting talks and classes for adults and children. There is a modest gift shop where you can purchase the usual museum items for kids and adults alike. I consider this a true gem in our community!

Excellent place for rainy day fun! Lots of good exhibits and interactive fun for kids. My nine year old friend and I had a very good time.

Day of the Dead, Splash Factory, Discovery Days, Lego Exhibit and Planes and Trains- the kids love it and I love that they want to go to a museum rather than watch TV!

With lots of hands on activities for the kids, and a nice space! I took my nephew (5) to the Planes, Trains, and Automobile exhibit and we both really enjoyed it. The outdoor splash exhibit was also great.

Best value for entertaining the kids. Change of exhibits frequently so you can go back again and again. Great activities for grandparents to take the kids. Las Dias de los Muertos, Doll exibit, Legos, dress up, space, history, great variety.

One of the better small museums I've seen. I would recommend a visit if you are in the area.We saw the permanent local history display. It covers the general area and not just Longmont which makes sense since Longmont was a major hub for the historic farming communities in the area many of which no longer exist. I thought the exhibit was extremely well done. It is small but that reflects the size and probably the financial resources of the organization. They went for quality over quantity and I thoroughly enjoyed the results. We also saw the two special exhibits "Around the World in 80 Dolls" and "Carve! Selected Works from the Champion Cottonwood". The dolls were fascinating. They were dressed in the costumes of their county of origin. Information was included with each so I could tell what I was looking at. The Champion Cottonwood was the largest tree of its kind until its death. The wood was given to local artisans and this display shows the results.Their permanent exhibits are free, special exhibits are $5 for adults, $3 for students/seniors, free for kids under 5. Parking is free. The staff is friendly and there is a small bookstore with some well chosen local history works in it.

They always have a good outlook on the area. Some of their shows are as highly rated as some of the Denver Art Museums. Always worth the stop.

We visited the museum with our family during the Lego exhibit. There were dozens of Lego creations constructed by local artists. We thought our granddaughters would enjoy the exhibit, but it was really the adults that were fascinated. We look forward to the next exhibit.
