The view of Collegiate Peaks is absolutely stunning. My heart jumps every time I see it and there's really only one way to describe it: Home.

If you are driving through and are close, definitely stop by. Unless you are going to go climbing, this is some of the best views you are going to get along with collegiate peaks. You are 'supposed' to pay which is kind of silly.

If you are visiting here a stop is definitely worth your time for the amazing views of the Collegiates. There are bathrooms and you can walk around or walk the dog but the main thing is the views. Stunning!

The Collegiate peaks are significant mountains adjacent to the Colorado Trail. This overlook is a great place to understand the lay of the land.

A nice picnic ground with riding trails and plenty of tables and restrooms. Day use is $7 per vehicle. Amazing views of the Collegiate Peaks!

Wish there was better signage for mountain names. Many of them are just signs along the road and no place to pull over.

Although a relative helped me to learn which peaks were named what, not everyone has that help. From this vantage point, you can see all the main peaks and learn which one is Mt Princton, Mt Yale, etc...There is a picnic area and it is a good quick stop as you make your way between Buena Vista and points to the East... Take the time to look!

The Collegiate Peaks Scenic Overlook is a perfect place to stop and enjoy the views, have a picnic lunch, and take some gorgeous photos. You can easily see the entire Collegiate Peaks mountain range, and the views are breathtaking.

It's a long drive with beatufil sights on the way.Have ready your camera and stop often to take great pictures. We visited in the summer and there was no snow around. With it, it must be prettier still.

Coming down off Trout Creek Pass on US-285 this overlook is situated on knoll with the best view of the entire Collegiate Range. You art still far enough above the valley floor, and far enough away from the beaks to full appreciate the size and grandeur of these peaks.Plenty of sheltered picnic tables, so bring lunch or dinner (watch the sunset behind the parks).

You need to understand what you are looking at in this area. This overloop has signs so you can learn the peaks, as well as great picnic areas and views.

I visited the Scenic Overlook early in the morning. There was a little chill in the air, it was quiet, and the view was spectacular! I would strongly suggest visiting the Overlook to get a breathtaking view of the Collegiate Peaks! The area was very clean with several covered picnic areas. Great photo opportunity!
