I cannot say enough good about this business. We planned it on the phone with Renee, who was very accommodating to our schedule, and our guide, Ian, was fantastic. Ian matched each of our 5 family members up with the perfect horse for them and took us on a long ride with helpful and informed conversation throughout. He takes great pictures too! Crossing the creek several times was fun and the views were, of course, amazing. This ride was the highlight of our vacation to Colorado.

The scenery is WONDERFUL, on the backside of 'Mount Princeton'. Quick access to the trail from the stables. We crossed the creek 3 times which provided a needed cool down in the heat. The trail is somewhat steep and narrow in some parts and wide open in other, good variety! The horses were well maintained and staff was SUPER! Excellent for families! Primitive though - only an OUTHOUSE - bring your own drinks and/or food!

Was over-all a good experience. The views that we saw were absolutely beautiful. Trail guide was very good. My husband was not happy with his mule, though.

My husband and I booked a 2 hour ride. Our guide, Renae (sp?), was really nice and took us to beautiful outlooks on the mountain top. We lucked out mainly because it was just my husband and I and the tour guide. So it was nice to have the small party size and great conversation without someone's kid screaming behind us or something. We walked through Aspen groves that were completely gorgeous. Didn't see any wildlife unfortunately but it was still a really lovely ride to take on a late summer afternoon!

We had a group of 7 riders, and went on the two hour trail ride. Our guides, Renee and Ian, were terrific! They assigned each rider a mount based on that person's experience level......they were very patient with our youngest, inexperienced rider and made sure she had a good time. We traversed 4 creek crossings, rode through conifer and aspen groves, saw a beaver pond, looked at trees marked by elks and bears, discussed native plants, talked about the Colorado Trail and watched rain showers floating by. This was one of the most interesting trail rides I have experienced. Give them a call and go on a great ride!

We were pleasantly surprised on our latest trip to Buena Vista to see that the stables were under new management. My daughter and I decided to give them a try, as we were not impressed with the Mt. Princeton stable rides. We opted for a 2-hour trek up Mt. Princeton. Kelsey, our guide and daughter of the owner, was super friendly and knowledgeable. Because we were experienced riders, she took us up a somewhat steep but beautiful trail, through rivers and up to an overlook of the valley. It was breathtaking. We were right in the heart of the San Isabel forest and had amazing views of the Collegiate Peaks, up the Colorado Trail. We got caught in a storm on the way back; Kelsey had packed ponchos, which came in handy. The horses weren't thrilled by the lightening but they managed fine and we had a great time. Highlights:Highly recommended for all levels of riders. Family-owned and operated; they personally own many of the horsesWagon rides available for those who don't/can't ride in the saddleGuides are friendly and knowledgeableGreat customer servicesReasonable rates

This looked very closed to me and appeared to be for sale.....too bad it looked like it could have been fun.

A new family recently took on these riding stables and they are wonderful. They really care about their animals and work VERY hard to give their guests the best experience ever! The trails are beautiful -- through the mountains, near/on the Colorado Trail. You get to "be the view" AND "see the view" here! Decent prices too!

Great ride, great people, fine horses. My kids went on several rides this summer and enjoyed each one. Have been on rides with several stables in the Buena Vista area and this is definitely the best.

I've ridden horses a handful of times in my life and found this one to be the most positive and memorable. I did the 2 hour tour along with my girlfriend and another family with an 8 yr old. None of us had significant recent experience. Our guide, Shane, took us across streams and bridges, ending at the top of a ridge for a photo opp. The stable is well run and the horses seem happy with their jobs. Would highly recommend for those with little riding experience -- it will become the highlight of your time spent in the area

We took a beautiful ride yesterday with Jacob at Harvard City Riding Stables. The scenery simply couldn't have been more perfect. Jacob was great with my three kids. I had a couple who were pretty nervous (an understatement) and he was calm and supportive the whole time. Thanks for a great ride at a fair price!

We did the 2 hour tour and it was fantastic! My parents, who are in their 60s, my neice who is 7 and my 14 year of nephew all thoroughly enjoyed the tour! The 7 year old was on her own gentle horse and she really loved riding alone! Joe and Rhoda were super friendly, great with the kids and awesome with the horses! I highly recommned this company!

We went on the hour ride (we were a party of 8). It was great. We had 5 kids and three adults and everyone enjoyed themselves (we had 2 guides). We were able to go up and how paths and even in streams. Beautiful!

Some of the stables in this area take you for a miles ride before you get to the forrest. Harvard City rides start at rhe trailhead. This is a great ride with supurb scenery and great guides. I lost count of the creek crossings and saw deer everywhere. Beaver ponds and lakes must have those beautiful trout in them. I am going to come back to fish. Great Trip!! Thanks Joe.
