I've moved with the military to many places and there is nowhere else like Shelby Farms. Our dog LOVES the 100+ acre off-leash dog park. It is incredible! (Bring a towel if you bring your dog here...they will jump in the little lakes!). The playground areas are wonderful and the running and bike paths are second to none. The Green Line is 6 miles in one direction and a great place for runners and bikers. Keep in mind there is no restroom stops on the Green Line except for the very ends. There are MANY other running/biking trails throughout the park, horse stables, picnic areas, fishing, pedal boats...this list goes on and on. You haven't visited Memphis unless you have visited Shelby Farms! Bring a picnic and enjoy!

Those who know...know and take avantage of this great park often. Hike, bike, paddle or whatever and you will always have a good time. It is Memphis, so do not get out on the trails alone, expecially as dusk as there are occasional opportunists who will take advantage and rob you or worse. Food trucks are there on Sunday afternoona dn that is something good to try.

Just off I40 with a wonderful walking trail. We walked 5 miles round trip on the trail. We were just passing through Memphis and wanted a good safe please to walk. We loved the park and will likely do it again when passing through.

It looks like they are expanding the park and unfortunately the signage was a little lacking but after our 3rd try we manage to find the road taking us to the temporary visitor center. Lots of mud and heavy equipment at the moment. The paved path was nicely maintained but the scenery around the park was only average. A couple of swampy areas, a few woody areas and then a number of open fields. Don't get me wrong, it is definitely a place I would go to run or bike but it was average. The only above average parts were the nice/clean bathrooms and they have live Buffalo in one section of the park! Was very cool to see them up close.

Once the construction to add more lakes, this will be 5 stars. A great dog park, lots of trails for bikes and walking, horses and even buffalo. A beautiful, well kept park.

The park is wonderful. Memphis' version of central park. The construction that's going on now can be challenging but I am certain it will be well worth the obstacles when it's done. We were married there several years ago- loved it then.. love it now.

I visit Shelby Farms Park daily… and I would spend all day there if I had the time. They have tons of things to do from biking, hiking, and horseback riding to looking at bison haha. My recommendation is to go to the back entrance at Trinity Rd by Germantown Parkway and take your dogs to the park or just take a walk. There are tons of dogs and people out there taking walks (you don't need to keep your dogs on a leash) and there are beautiful hills and big lakes. Bring a towel for your dogs though - it's hard to keep them out of the lakes. They are currently doing construction by the main entrance but there is a new entrance and it is not hard to go into. Construction does not block up traffic much though, so that is good. During the holidays, they also have Starry Nights (which is a bunch of Christmas lights throughout the park and you drive through), so if you are here during the holidays, definitely do that!

The park is undergoing renovations, but is a great location for running, walking, bicycling, etc. Picnic tables are provided and a great family location.

We went to Shelby Farms Park and walked on one of their trails. We had our dog with us and everyone enjoyed the walk. There were lots of other dogs all on leashes which was good. There were also joggers, and cyclists but everyone worked well together on the trail. It was a nice, well maintained walking trail. Loved it

We were traveling through Memphis with our almost 3 year old and we're looking for a good Christmas light display. We happened on Orion Starry Nights at Shelby Farms and were quite impressed. The light displays were pretty nice and the village in the park had one of the best petting zoos I've see variety wise and smores! Very fun night and would definitely recommend it to others with small kids!

I can't say enough about how wonderful this place is! The playground is innovative and amazingly fun! The bike trails are fabulous, they have epic scenery and a herd of buffalo! It's my favorite thing about Memphis!

Whatever you like, you will find it here. Trails, biking, paddle boats, horseback riding, fishing, wildlife. Nothing to dislike here except mosquitos in the evening.

I go to the dog park quite often. My dog loves exploring the trails and swimming in the lakes. The people are friendly, responsible dog owners. *Water is only available at the entrance (and my dog won't drink out of it for some reason) so it's a good idea to bring water and a bowl.
