We were visiting the area for Shiloh National Military Park and received a flyer for the TN River Museum at the Visitor Center. We enjoyed our visit very much and it was made even more enjoyable by the very nice ladies on duty. If you are in Savannah, you should stop in for a visit.

This little museum is packed with indian artifacts, civil war items and other items relevant to the area from long times past. Very interesting.A "must see" if you are in the area of Savannah, Tn.

We had a very enjoyable visit to the Tennessee River Museum. The curator is a wealth of information. The exhibits were extraordinary. I've never seen so many arrow heads in such good condition. There is a $3 charge per person unless you visited the Shiloh National Park. Then there is no charge, but do make a donation. Convenient parking right out front.

The Tennessee River Museum has a much better Civil War exhibit than Shiloh. Outstanding Indian artifact collection.

This was our second visit and there have been lots of changes. More exhibits have been added and all are interesting and very well displayed. The people there are helpful and know their facts. If you're in the area, be sure to check it out. Oh, it is very affordable which is always a pleasant surprise.

Received free ticket from Shiloh National Park for the Tennessee River Museum. Lot more that expected. History of the river, civil war and stream boats. Self guided tour so there was no rush. Great place to visits whether your a history buff or not. .

This museum is a quiet place with wonderful exhibits about the Mississippi Mound Builders, the Trail of Tears, the Civil War on the River and the Tennessee River. There is also a very good exhibit detailing the life of Sergeant Alvin York. A small assortment of gifts are also available.

Thoroughly enjoyed the carefully planned museum depicting the River history and culture. Especially appreciated the narrative of Sgt. York's early life that had a bearing on the hero he became.

A good small museum. Informative, but not interactive displays. There were several video screens located throughout, but they did not provide further explanation of the displays or info for children who are too impatient to read. They played music and showed pictures of things similar to those in the nearby displays. The layout is fine, but there is little in depth information on a multitude of topics. The temporary display on Cpl York and the WWI was mixed in with displays on archeology and Native Americans. Around the side of the building are fantastic pieces of petrified wood we just happened upon as we went around the block...worth a look. If you have extra time or need an indoor activity you can't beat the price. Don't make a special trip.

A lot of history right here in this little gem. History of Tennessee river and river boats. Very interesting, we went on a girl scout trip.

Now the museum has a lovely exhibit dedicated to Sgt York, it seems they are busting at the seams to be able to display all they have. As you move through the rooms there are some overlapping from, say, ancient native displays and civil war artifacts. The pictures I took are varied but I didn't get any of the York exhibit, but their primary displays regard paleontology, archaeology, Trail of Tears, Naval portions of the "Unpleasantries" as it's called in the south, the steamboats, musseling and button making occupations. It was a lovely afternoon of learning. The docent was amazingly sweet.
