We just took our family of 5 skiing at The Canyons. The staff was always helpful and available, the ski lessons were excellent and the mountain was well groomed in spite of the "not so ideal" snow conditions.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Offers a variety of ski options for entire family. Great outdoor areas for after ski gatherings.

Don't get me wrong this place is HUGE. The problem is trying to get from one lift to the other. I felt like I spent more time looking at maps and signs then skiing. I think over time this place would get better, but for a first time trip it was hard. Food is stupid expensive and not so good.

I only bothered to ski here for one day. I felt that the general condition of the slopes were not to the same standard as the Park City resort next door, so I didn't go back.I do think they have a better restaurant at the base area, which is a bonus. My beginner friend really struggled.

We had wonderful skiing at the Canyons. Nicely groomed slopes, and the mountain is so huge, we had several runs all to ourselves. Lift lines were not very long at all. I wish they had a few more green runs to warm up on, but there are some easier blues to start on. The village is nice, with a couple of really good restaurants, a nice indoor/outdoor bar at the base with fire pits, and a nice area for the kids to sled a bit. We heard that it will connect with the Park City ski area soon, so that will really add to the number of runs to enjoy. We're definitely coming back next year!

We skied at Canyons for 2 days of our Park City area trip last week, and on the first day there my rental skis (from another local shop) were taken during our lunch break at the Red Pine Lodge. After looking over the racks repeatedly, I was directed to the Skier Services hut at the Red Pine area. My report was taken by Tracy, who phoned it in to the main base area. I rode the gondola down to the main base, where Joanne arranged for me to have 2 days of complimentary skis and poles, as I had 2 days left on my rental package at Park City Sports. My skis turned up a day later at Deer Valley, and had been taken by another skier who did not realize he had the wrong skis until the next day. I think Canyons is classy!

Not much they can do about the lack of snow, but there definitely is not a lot going on in the Canyons. So if you want something to do other than just skiing, look elsewhere...like Park City or Deer Valley. Also the hour plus wait to rent equipment is ridiculous. You should definitely rent equipment elsewhere if at all possible.

First time at the Canyons. I have skied off and on for most of my life but it's been a while since I've been to a "real" ski resort. This didn't disappoint. I'm a pretty solid intermediate skier but it's been 2 years since I last skied. I felt like the Canyons had a good assortment of runs for all ability levels. Everyone was super friendly and we were lucky enough to have two days of wonderful weather. Definitely would go back

That word, to me, sums up the experience at the Canyons. Everything here costs more than it does at other Utah resorts. The locker day rentals are $11! They are $2 at other places! The logistics are also average because skiing around Canyons is confusing. There are so many lifts in different locations that meeting up with people is virtually impossible. That, along with the fact that one must take a cabriolet from the parking lot to the gondola, makes a day trip a very tiring and confusing experience. The skiing and terrain are very good, however, as are the views as one skis around the mountain that has become a housing development with ski runs. The houses are pretentious and serve to make the rest of us remember how little money we actually have when there are people who can not only afford mansions on a ski mountain, but also can afford to leave them vacant during ski season. Ridiculous.

The mountain was always a great deal with their terrain, etc. Now at $112/day, it is too expensive and might need to start looking to ski elsewhere. The food is good but even that is getting way to expensive. Deer Valley is even cheaper.

Such a great place to hang out. Our kids are young so we can't really go biking but we went on a few hikes and road up to the top of the mountain, had some food and swam in the pool. Great way to get away for the weekend.

this place is getting better each year - larger too - many improvements - now operated by vail so quality is improving - lots of choices for all skiers

We loved that the slopes were a little narrower, so for a beginner, you may not like it as much as Park City. But we loved feeling like we were in the trees. Also, we liked the restaurants on the mountain more than Park City. Very organized when it came to lift lines, always had staff directing people so lines moved quickly and evenly.

Canyons is much less assuming than Park City as has just as much good skiing, mostly intermediate but plenty of more challenging terrain also. There are many groomed runs but ungroomed, glade and mogul skiing also. Many of the lifts are old, slow ones but the lines are not long.Long cat track ones connect various parts of the mountain. Next year, a gondola will be installed connecting Canyons to Park City. There is a choice of food options in lodges around the mountain, better than typical ski resort food but just as expensive. There was live music playing at the base of the mountain at the end of the day. Now that Canyons is part of the Vail family of resorts, it likely will be improved but it appears that most of their improvements will be after those at Park City. On a busy day, ski at the Canyons as it will be less crowded than Park City.

Just reviewed park city mountain resort. Gave it a 3. Canyons was better and the plan to link it to park city is great. I might come back when they have done that. The skiing was better here than I expected but as someone used to Vail and whistler I was disapointed with the range of skiing and the age of some of the infrastructure. Some ski lifts were just too slow. In the other review I said that the city needs to get the three resorts linked up. This is serious. Look what is happening in the mega resorts in Europe. Look at vail and whistler. These I love. Great food and great skiing. Park city has great food and some bits of skiing but if you linked it all up it would be world beating. Then you might get a 5. Ps. Bus service needs to be a bit more frequent. Vail has a lot better so does aspen. Whistler doesn't need a bus.
