This was an interesting home to visit, you and your family can learn about early LDS (Morman) history, and American history. Jacob Hamblin worked with the local Native Americans, his work was very interesting. Not being LDS, it is a little different to have the tour lead only by LDS missionaries... but they did a good job sharing their knowledge.

This place is a little out off the track but its a nice place to visit. It's filled with history and fun for young ones. Depending on the missionaries on the door, it's a fun experience for the family. There's original pieces to see and loads to learn. If you're interested in the pioneer movement then this place is right for you!

Jacob Hamlin's Home has a Treasure of History there that all ages alike will enjoy. Settlers in this area experiences many hardships during their time spent here.

Very attractive Pioneer home, especially late in the day. Subdivisions have grown up around location.

If you enjoy pioneer history you'll enjoy this tour, but depending on who the missionaries working that day are it can be a little off putting for none members of the LDS church. There is so much interesting information out there on how the area was settled and what it took to just put food on the table back then. Sometimes they are really good at sharing that history to keep the kids interested and sometimes they aren't. It can be too much like missionary preaching the gospel. So be advised. Hopefully you'll have a good guide that makes it interesting for the kids and doesn't scare away your none member friends and family.

Missionaries tell you the story of the Hamblin family settling in St. George. It is interesting to see the artifacts and hear the story.

The original home of Jacob Hamblin is a good visit. The tour guides are informative and cordial. Jacob was a good friend of the Indians and worked hard to keep relations between them and the settlers a positive one. The home is two levels and requires climbing stairs to see the upper level. And it is full of fun stories about pioneer days.

We visited Jacob Hamblin home as a family. It was very interesting to see how difficult things were for those who went before us.

I've been here several times, and each time I learn something new. On a guided tour, you will be led through the house and told why Jacob Hamblin moved there, and how he contended with the hostile Indians of the area.

We took some grandkids to see the Jacob Hamblin home in Santa Clara Utah. The tour guide was knowledgeable and shared may interesting stories. There is so much history that one tour cannot cover it all. There is the History of Jacob Hamblin and how he arrived in Utah. There is Jacob's history working with the American Indians (wearing his signature red scarf to avoid ambush). There is also the history of the home and the family who lived there. There are many wonderful artifacts, antique loom in the upstairs, Jacob's saddle, 1800 kitchen utensils, etc. etc. Nice clean restrooms, Best to go during the week when the crowds are minimal so that you can get more than just a minimal tour. Don't miss it!

We love visiting the mormon pioneer sites in St. George. The couple missionaries do a great job and the home itself is really interesting.

It is a fun tour and gives information about the area. Interesting to know that the home has been so close to being flooded.

Jacob was a real hero of the West. Little known outside LDS history buff, his life rates a movie. Home has a lot to tell you about a place & time far gone by.

The homesite was easy to find, very well maintained and original. The staf was courteous and very knowledgable with the history of the house and it's occupants.Recommend this as a short stop on the local history of St George and the Mormon church.
