widtsoe ghost town

One of the Utah "guidebooks" recommends visiting Widtsoe a town built in 1887 and abandoned in 1920-30. Taking a left at the Bryce National Park we drove for what seemed forever. Looking for signs of life we finally saw an 18" sign saying Widtsoe Cemetery which was chained and padlocked - yet most of the graves had fresh flowers scattered around the top.We continued down the road - anticipation high with finding the ghost town. We never found it.We did see an old decrepit barn falling down. If that's the "attraction" we were sorely disappointed. Don't waste your time looking for this "ghost town" as it doesn't exist.
