My family stays at the camp ground every year in July. It is so nice to stay here because you are only minutes away from the beach and can easily walk there. Also you are minutes away from the bay so you can go fishing.

This beach is exactly the opposite of the beach you'll find in Rehoboth Beach and yet it's just a short distance away. This beach is much wider, wilder and open. It's really lovely up here and a perfect getaway for when the closeness of Rehoboth Beach's beach gets you.

We live part-year at RB and love visiting this park. Unspoiled and development-free natural beaches take your breath away! So nice and relaxing.

I've been hiking this park for years and started running the trails this past summer. I run and hike at the Fresh Pond part of this park off Cedar Neck Road (Hickman Road) in Ocean View which is a hop, skip, and jump away from my house. The trails are great for runners. You'll have lots of company in the summer with other runners and bikers. However, it's very peaceful and relaxing to run there during the off-season. Just don't run on the weeks it's shotgun/muzzleloader season (signs are posted). There is a really nice four mile trail run there every August too.

We like it all, and buy a season pass every year. Great fishing from the pier, walks on the beach, clamming, photo opps with the restored lighthouse and ferry boat. Day or night, every day at this park is great.

Try parking during the key summer months at Bethany, Rehobeth, and other beaches along the Delaware shore. You must become expert at stuffing parking meters regularly during the day. An alternative is the all day parking by the Indian River Inlet bridge where for $8 a day everyone stuffed into the car gets to play on the beach all day. The beach is not as crowded and if you are a Delaware resident, $27 buys a sticker good for the entire year. Check the Delaware website for details. We do not use the campground and defer to the other reviews for that description. If you get tired of hot sand check out the dramatic restaurant at the Indian River Marina. This is where fishing boats of all sizes reside and some offer fishing expeditions off the coast. Six miles of bay and ocean coastline are available at this park as well as nature experiences at the Life station Museum. As old codgers we appreciate the $12 per year pass at nearly all Delaware State parks. A great place to bring the grandkids!

Went here with my adult children and enjoyed the experience. Loads to do with the boardwalk and it's stores. The beach loads up quickly and parking is a challenge. Beautiful town.

Location is great for beach lovers, fishing, and bird watchers. Its natural beauty is overwhelming. Great place to spend some time alone or for a family outing.

Much better than crowded Rehoboth beach. I'll take the lesser know beaches and parks of Delaware any day! They're always clean and not too crowded.

We stayed here on a trip down the coast and it was a great place to stop and recuperate. It's a bit of a walk to the beach but definitely worth the trip. It was a very bike friendly area and it seemed like lots of families biked between the beach front and campsite. The water was nice and the sunset is worth staying for.

It has pull-through sites as well as newly constructed 'tenting' areas surrounded by split rail fencing. It also sits just to the left side, under the Indian River Inlet bridge. There are no trees or private swimming pools and the beach is about a 500 meter walk or drive away. There is a laundry facility and rest rooms with showers available. Their is fresh water, sewer and electric hook ups, but no cable. We were able to get about 14 channels with just our outside antenna. The worst thing we found with this campground is actually the campers with the small companion dogs. For some reason, the owners think they don't need to clean up after them... poop is poop people........ clean up after your pets!!!! We have 3 dogs ranging from 55 lbs to 75 lbs, we didn't go out side without poop bags. This is also a high priority place for fisherman, so don't be surprised to see them sun up to sun down. There is a nice play ground for small children and a small camp store that stocks necessities. The only thing that we felt this campground needed was an area FENCED in for pets to get exercise. Sometimes walking your pets on a leash just isn't enough. For the price, you can't beat it, especially this close to a beach.

This is a beautiful beach that wasn't to crowded while I was there. The weird thing I found is Deleware's "Pack in-Pack out" mentality for it's state parks. I understand this for the back country but when you are 20 feet from the highway, I feel like you are just asking for litter. Maybe it works for them, but not being familiar with this, I found it a bit annoying.

Bathrooms, showers and a snack bar close by. Wide clean beaches and lots of parking. We did not have to run to the meter to feed it. nice to take a shower before you get back into the car.

We went to the Hickman Road parking lot and walked the prickly pear trail for about 3 miles. Portion of the trails is paved with crushed stones, while the remaining trail is packed earth (mowed). It's level, with pine forests, open meadow, a view of the Indian River Bay, and you can spot the prickly pear cactus along the trail. No sand in the shoes!
