Walk you two or four legged children watch the geese and the water - Beautiful place to just relax. The new decor sets it apart from any other park.
Rehoboth5
An easy walk from anywhere in Rehoboth, the kids' fishing platform on Lake Gerar is perfect for keeping the little ones occupied while here on vacation. The platform is large and off from the street, and is very safe for any age child. Another reason why Rehoboth is perfect for families.
Paxtongirl
WE ride our bikes over here and just enjoy the water and birds. In September the clematis smells so lovely.

Lake Gerar is located in downtown Rehoboth Beach. There are several areas where you can walk along side Lake Gerar. One is at the intersection of 3rd Street & Olive Avenue. Another is just behind the Henlopen Hotel at the intersection of 1st Street and Lake Avenue. I personally like the area at 3rd & Olive. Here there is a nice area for a picnic, a bench or two and also a small swingset for the kids. Here you will often see ducks along the edge of the lake or swimming in the lake. Sometimes I will bring some cracked corn or bread to feed the ducks. You often will see turtles and fish in the lake too. Often, I will stop here just to see the wildlife. There are several shade trees here, so it is a nice place to catch some shade on a hot summer day. There are also a set of wooden steps leading from Olive Avenue down to the edge of Lake Gerar into a grassy area with a few benches.Overall, Lake Gerar is just a small lake with a small green park surrounding it. It is not a huge park, but a nice green spot in downtown. It is worth a peek IF you want to check out the ducks, turtles and fish. It is also a nice place to have a picnic. The only downside, is that there is no parking on site (other than the metered parking on Olive Avenue).Note: There is a Tot Lot and waterfountains at the 1st & Lake Avenue area of Lake Gerar in addition to a paved path around the lake. There is also no parking other than metered parking at this section of Lake Gerar.
