Balanced Rock is about a fifty minute drive from Twin Falls, Idaho. Once you get to Bulh, there are signs along the road to show you the way. Our gps tried to wind us around on country roads. The signs lead you a more direct way. There is good parking and a picnic table at the foot of the rock formation. We hiked up the path to the balance rock. It was not too steep. The only problem I experienced was a bit of sliding around in the rocks on the way down. We had not planned on climbing and neither of had on good walking shoes. I would wear better shoes next time as I about fell over several times from sliding around. The view was nice from the top. It was quiet. There were a few others there, and included all ages, from around nine to seventy. People were polite and friendly. There is a campground and a park nearby with a creek running through it. I think that campground would be a nice place to take family photos.

This park has been around a while. There are major pot holes that should be addressed. The facility could overall use a pick me up.

What a sight! I had seen pictures on the internet but to actually see it was amazing! Wow! How can it stand on such a small pedestal is beyond me! So worth the trip there from Twin Falls where we were visiting our daughter. We also enjoyed the picnic area near by. What a cool place!!! I love the rocks piled high on both sides of the river and camping area! Don't miss it!!!

There is a camp ground near the rock and you can hike up to it. It's something to see and take pictures with your family.

This is something that is well worth seeing. Adults and children will enjoy this equally. It is truly amazing to see this gigantic piece of rock that appears to be teetering on a much smaller rock. You will really enjoy your visit here.

Balanced Rock Park is a quaint county owned/maintained park along Salmon Falls Creek in South Central Idaho. The creekside park is wedged in the bottom of a 200 foot gorge whose towering cliffs may seem daunting to the first-time visitor. Once the fear of sudden rock falls subsides, true enjoyment fills the heart. There is mowed grass, tables, shelters, paths and trails to explore. A great place to excape the desert heat for an afternoon picnic. It's an ideal place for children ages six and up.Just up the highway several hundred yards is the famous Balanced Rock -- also worth a 5-minute stop for pictures or a 30 minute stop to scramble to the monolith.

Really awesome place. Hike to the top of Balanced Rock and walk for about 1.5-2hrs at the top of the mountain. Cool place. Fun adventure. Worth visiting.

This particular rock has a very small point it is perched on. It looks as though some cement might have been added. That does not matter.I am surprised that this rock is still standing. Some lady gave this a low rating and said go to Moab which is one of my favorite areas. But this particular rock is more odd than the balanced ones there. Moab has more beauty but the dimensions of this rock and shape beats anything there as far as one balanced rock. The view from the other side of the rock is amazing because there is nothing but open land for miles if you take a picture from the other side. You can take your picture at the base. There may be 30 good balanced rocks in Moab but you better see this one before it ends up like the old man in the mountain in New Hampshire and comes crashing down. The area overall is not beautiful but a near by park is picturesque. No not every area is as nice as Arches National Park but it still has its merit. The Buhl ice cream is close as is Nat Soo Pah by the way.

One of Idaho's many natural wonders. Don't forget to bring your camera and hiking shoes. There are some really nice picnic places here, too.

Ugly surroundings of an ugly rock that is not even balancing. Go to Moab Utah for amazing balaced rocks.

We visited Balanced Rock Park in early April, so it was cold and windy, but that couldn't diminish the beauty of the scenery. A river winds its way through the park, and there are covered picnic tables and grills along the riverbank. The rock formations look like castles or fortresses and are just amazing. My husband and son-in-law did some exploring with the grandkids among the rocks and caves and enjoyed that a lot. It would be a lovely place to spend an afternoon in warm weather.

This rock is part of a small gorge that just appears in otherwise flat farmland and is worth a visit. We struggled to find it so here are some directions: travel west on main street out of Castleford for a few miles, road bends round to the right and then, after another mile, turn left at the first stop sign and down into gorge.

The park itself is really pretty, kind of secluded off the road, with a small creek running through. It looks like a great place to stop for luncj. But the real Balanced Rock is a bit down the road from where the park is. The road gets very curvy and the neat rock formations are all over the place! There is a huge pull-out at the Balanced Rock. We were there at the end of March and it was a beautiful day. There were maybe two other families there so not crowded at all. You can hike all around the rocks and the parking lot is a great picture taking point!

We were there in February, so it was deserted. But we'd like to come back when it's warmer. The stream flows through a narrow canyon. Rock walls soar overhead. There are several picnic tables, grills and a bathroom. There were even some swings for the kids. Nice place for a picnic.

Go there and take a picture that makes it look like you are holding up the rock! There are no ammenities around, so be prepared with some water and snacks if you plan to stick around. There is a campsite a few km away but I did not check it out.
