Pomerelle is a small (two lift) family operation that really has a lot to offer. First of all, the snow quality is outstanding -- lots of snow and usually powdery soft. The Ski School is family friendly and one of the best in the business with enthusiastic instructors who have the same certification as those at major resorts like Sun Valley, Snowbird and Jackson Hole, but at a fraction of the cost. Lift tickets and ski lodge food are priced way below what you would expect for a captive audience at a ski resort. Lift lines don't exist. This place is like having your own private ski paradise!

First time to Pomerelle Ski Resort and I was totally surprised at the quality of the mountain. We were fortunate to get 5" of fresh snow and the skiing was "heavenly". Literally like skiing on a cloud. The second we found excellent groomed runs. Small resort with big time fun!

This is a great starter mountain for the family. The runs are fun, but aren't very challenging. The prices are great. The runs are always well groomed and the people are friendly.

We have several mountains to choose from in southern Idaho, including the infamous Sun Valley, but Pomerelle isn't nearly as crowded or EXPENSIVE! There is a quaint little lodge to grab a bite, plug in your computer, rent equipment or just watch. Very relaxing & fun. I grew up on this mountain. The staff is great, too.

Full Disclosure: I am a black/double black skier with a blue skiing wife, plus a 7 year old and twin 5 year olds that blurr the blue/green line. We stayed at the Marriott Fairfield in Burley (45 min), which was awesome (clean, nice, good breakfast). Pomerelle is a SMALL, local mountain. The runs are big, wide and relatively flat. This made it boring for a black skier, but awesome for a father of blue skiers. The wide, open runs make coaching easy, and only having two chairs and one base, plus the small-town feel, made it so we could all make runs and not necessarily together. The snow was nice with good coverage and the weather was great. The crowds were non-existent and the locals were very friendly (except for a grumpy 16 year old in rentals). Ski Patrol was AMAZING! They skied with us on the first run and gave some great instruction to our 5-year old twins. At the bottom my daughter asked him if he would ski with her again and he said, "Sure, as long as the radio doesn't beckon me." Awesome! Don't expect Sun Valley or Whistler/Blackcomb terrain or environment, but that is also was gives Pomerelle its charm. The only complaint was that neither of their two chairs have a safety rail, making rides up a little bit uncomfortable for a Dad. And if you come from the north make sure and visit Twin Falls Sandwich Company. A bit off 84, but well worth the drive!

Second year in a row that we take the grandkids on the chairlift and hike down. The staff is the best and we recommend this to anyone liking the mountains/outdoors.

There is good snow when no one else can even open. Family atmosphere. Safe place especially for learners. Milk run goes on forever. Instructor is challenging and Yahoo for the sic.

This mountain has amazing snow. The runs are novice at best so not great for advanced riders. But the stuff is friendly, and the mountains are well groomed.

Lots of runs. Good real snow most of the time. Nothing fake.

My girlfriend and I went up before the snow this year January 2012. I cannot wait to go back, the staff was wonderful. Everyone I spoke with was helpful and friendly. A small note, pay for the night ski, it is well worth it. Great fun.

Last December we decided to ski some areas on our way to Oregon. We stopped at Pomerelle to a pleasant surprise: we had the mountain almost entirely to ourselves! The drive up wasn't bad; parking was no problem. At this very small ski area, the staff was friendly and food good. There were both groomed and natural ski runs with something for everyone. The view from the top was wonderful. What more could you ask: a sunny day, no lift lines, ski until you can't make another turn, terrain for all. The only drawback were the very slow lifts.

Had one day here at pomerelle mountain! Had to travel from Aberdeen so it was a way to go but was well worth it!What I liked most was that it catered for a wide range of needs. My friend, a total beginner felt confident on the bunny run, and comfortable on the milk run. Helpful snow patrol people around to give a helping hand too! My other friends and I enjoyed some of the more exciting and challenging runs. Ski rental was a very easy process :) Guess it may have helped that as we were visiting the US we were able to come here during term time and therefore it was very quiet but this was just perfect.
