Fox 8 is the BEST site...at the end of a peninsula and you climb down to water on three sides...beautiful rock outcroppings. Have to hike your gear to the site, but it's worth it....

Awesome trails in a hilly forest, hundreds of acres. Beach for swimming, canoes/boats for rent. Check out the Raptor Center. Check El Sol in Solon for dinner or grill in campgrounds.

Check the internet for a map of all the trails and print one out before you go. Visit the raptor center where injured birds are housed. Hike to and across the dam if the water is only a trickle. Camp here in primitive sites.

A few friends and I stopped out at the Raptor Center in Macbride Nature Recreation Area and were pleasantly surprised. There are a number of very unique birds here and it is a great opportunity to get a close look at them. Don't worry, these birds are not caught and caged, but have been adopted or rescued in the area and nursed back to health. All the birds here are unable to return to the wild due to injuries. I recommend stopping in taking a look at any age.
