8 miles NE of Guthrie Center, Iowa lies a nice small but awesome state park. It offers plenty of campsites, a youth campground; a seasonal lodge rental; hiking trails; a 17 acre natural lake; boat rental and concession area. Picnic shelters as well. Upon my first encounter, I began to hear & see plaenty of songirds: Goldfinch; Blue Jays; Bluebirds and others. Although I did see a few people camping, I felt as if I was there in the park alone. Peaceful hike and plenty to see and do. I really appreciated taking my time and enjoying this park. Well worth the trip.

This park is really lovely, great little hiking trail about .5 mile around the lake. Beautiful in the fall and good for a quiet day trip or a campout with friends.

I took my boy here for a cub scout overnight. Lots to do to keep 9-10 year olds busy: walking trails, ponds, nature center. It's fairly small for a state park, but a mecca for wildlife, especially song birds. Beautiful.

I'm told by the locals that there was a time that Springbrook was always busy and crowded. The something happened and they had to drain the lake and refill. Apparently it never came back from that. It is beautiful there, not crowded and defiantly worth finding and enjoying. Plenty of camping spaces, nice beach area and lots of grills and fire pit areas. Find this place and enjoy it!!

They have places for trailers, and tent campers alike. Clean shower house, playground, local creek, and man made lake with swimming and jon boats.

Very relaxing! Nice little lake and trail. Not too busy, which was nice.

If you like to camp, fish, swim, play volleyball, you'll love this place. Sits about 5 miles from two different small towns. Haven't fished there in a while, but used to be good for bluegill and crappie. Enjoy the wildlife, you'll see tons of deer. It's beautiful in the fall and spring, love to see the deer chasing in the fall and Fawns playing in the the fields in the Spring.

This campground stays open longer than most with water, but you can camp here all year long. The lake is nice, the hiking trails are not really long, but very nice. It's quiet and peaceful, but we avoid holiday weekends! The picnic areas are plentiful and there is a nice restaurant and village museum worth seeing in nearby Panora. It's always a nice weekend. The falls colors are especially lovely.
