People were friendly and very helpful. They had tons of brochures as well as some gifts (tshirts, etc.) A good place to stop for ideas of things to do in the area!

Darn even the ex pat's get to work here and those travelling from the UK will feel right at home being understood here by staff members, seeing as there is a transplant working there but all the staff are great to work with and are very helpful and give great advice

The lady there helped us find a room even tho Dubuque was pretty much sold out due to 3 home comings and a craft fair, she helped us find attractions, the river boat was fun, the elevator cable car was cool, but just a short drive away was Galena ill. and that little town is great, its like a cross between Manitou Springs and Sausilito....lots to do and see, especially awesome in early fall...cant wait to go back

We thought that we were going to stop in to pick up some brochures, but the person at the counter gave us all kinds of ideas for things to do. We were only going to be in Dubuque for 24', but because of her suggestions, we made some good choices.

This impressive building dominates the skyline . It has been lovingly restored including the glistening gold central tower. The interior has been altered but the security guard said there was not much to see so we didn't go inside.

We happened by here when we first got to Dubuque and it was a great thing. The worker that was there showed us many opportunities that were available for the week end we were there and then gave us suggestions of other sites to see. She asked what we were interested in and then found us some brochures. She also showed us out the windows where some places were from there and how to get to the sites. I would highly recommend this stop if you need any information about Dubuque. We had done some research but wouldn't have known about the Dragon Boat races that were going on if we hadn't stopped in.

Dave at the Hampton was my best helper but the visit center was also helpful. I love getting maps from the states I visit and Iowa didn't disappoint.

This was a great place to stop before we began our discovery of the Dubuque attractions. The employee there was so helpful and knowledgeable. Made sure we left with a handful of maps and brochures. So glad we stopped there first!

Thought this visitor center was just a place to pick up hotel brochures, restaurant information and attractions in the area. It was far more than that. Lots of memoribilia on President Grant, his wife, children and grandchildren. Very well down.

We contacted this group prior to our visit and they provided visitor guides for activities available. Printed materials were attractive and informative. We visited the center (which is close to the National Mississippi River Museum) while we were in Dubuque to pick up additional information.

We couldn't find anywhere that sells Trapestine carmels in town so we stopped here. They do have a small selection of the carmels for sale. These are the best carmels I have ever eaten.
