We traveled 6.6 miles on the Cedar River into Charles City. It is a beatiful river - you can see the bottom nearly the whole time, the water is so clean. My husband and I did not kayak the white water rapids but do plan to come back in the summer and go down in tubes. Charles City is a very clean, scenic town.

They have spent a lot of time and effort bringing in large boulders and placing them in the river just to have the sight and effect of white water (small, very small) rapids. Very unexpected, but pretty. I didn't know it was there, and just went across the bridge, would have liked more time there.

Our family of four spent 2 days playing in the kayaks and meeting some awesome friendly people. The area is nice and clean, and the "R" campground is just down stream and a very nice place to stay. We will definitely be spending a lot more time here. Good for white water kayaks, lake kayaks, SUP, canoes, tubes.

I am an Iowa native that returned recently to visit family. Each time we visit we try to find something new to do in the state. Tubing on the WhiteWater was great fun. We plan on making this a part of every summer visit!!!!
