My husband and I took my niece to the Science Center and spent a few hours visiting various science stations throughout the open room. My niece enjoyed the hands-on stations, and even I learned a few new things! For two adults and one kid, admission was $7 for all three. Spending $7 for a few hours of educational entertainment is not a bad choice.

Take the kids to a fun, exciting, hands on educational day, Even as an adult I am always fascinated about going to the Science Center just to see what else they have for us all to learn.

The flood of '08 destroyed the original but they have reopened in a new space on Council St. The new space is a work in progress but fun for a rainy day!

Why the heck is this even listed? TRIPADVISOR FAIL! (it was pretty cool when it was open). Flood of 2008 made it go bye-bye!!!

What a waste of space and a representation of the lack of creativity in Cedar Rapids.

The museum was affected by the flood of 2008 and is no longer open downtown. Sadly, the IMAX theater closed a few months prior to this because it cost too much. The museum has opened a small museum at Lindale Mall until they can find another site.

This is by far the best IMAX ever. I love the dome shape. It's well worth it!

I take my children every year ... there are always a rotating bunch of learning activities on 3 floors. After we've tried out all of the neat experiments and demonstrations, we visit the gift shop for some cool items. Then, we watch a neat movie on the IMAX screen. The IMAX makes it feel like you are there ... very fun!
