We stopped in on a very cold day and the guy at the information desk was very helpful. He gave us more precise locations of some of the places we saw on Trip Advisor but we're having trouble finding. The place was very clean and the view overlooking Duluth is great. If you want brochures or more information on many of the North Shore things to do, you should stop in. We go to Duluth quite often and still find it very helpful

This is a beautiful overlook to Duluth, Superior and Spirit Valley. There is a model in the center that tells you what all of the landmarks are. Many brochures for local and extended area attractions.

You should stop in to stretch your legs, get some trail maps for the city, and enjoy the view. The maps and resources are free, and they're happy to answer your questions at the counter. Step out onto the deck and take in the views of the city from atop Thompson Hill, the views are worth it!

This should be your first stop if you plan to explore the North Shore. Usually, by the time you get to Duluth, most people need to get out and stretch and this is a perfect place to do so. Easy to get to and to get back to the highway. Plenty of parking, nice bathrooms and lots of literature no matter where in Minnesota you plan to go. Friendly and helpful staff can guide you to hotels, restaurants, hiking and any attractions you desire to see. They can even recommend places you probably didn't even know about. Great views of the harbor and surrounding area and a nice place to have a picnic and sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Beautiful view. Definitely a must if you're in the area. We went there early in the morning on a Sunday, so there were only few other people and we got to enjoy the view without any distractions. It was just oh so beautiful.

The panoramic pictures of what you are looking at as you do the Skyline Parkway are very informative. We really enjoyed the place. Lots of information on the area can be picked up here also.Very friendly people that help you.

We stopped here with two Scout crews on our way to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area north of Ely. Good place to get out of the car and stretch your legs to break up a long drive. The View of Lake Superior is great. Lots of parking

Get out and stretch your legs. Clean bathrooms, helpful information. Wonderful views of Duluth. Walk your dog, give your kids your kids a chance to run and enjoy a picnic on the grounds.

Stop for the view, worth it!!! Lots of information available Easy to get to from the north, a little harder from the south. Spacious, lots of room for lots of cars. For the geocacher, a couple of earthcaches.

What a wonderful rest stop and a great place to have the best views of Lake Superior with out paying for them.A lot of information on not only the Duluth and North Shore area, but all of Minnesota... Although the bathroom was being cleaned at the time, there were ways to spend your time waiting. The parking lot is in need of repair and the pot holes need to be filled... a hazard for many people walking across the lot to the visitor center.

What a surprise for some place that says rest stop. Nice view and all kinds of tourist information. I was looking for off the beaten track hikes on the north shore and the person at the info desk had some good ideas. Also has coupon books.

We accidentally make it here but it turned out to be worth the stop. The view was awesome. There is travel info and some interesting informational plaques if you want to learn a little more on the history of Duluth.

Travel information is very well stocked and the views of Lake Superior are spectacular. The grounds are well kept and has a nice little path to take a walk on to stretch your legs.

I'm sure glad we stopped at the Thompson Hill Information Center on our way into Duluth. Our children's jaws dropped in awe after seeing the panoramic view of Lake Superior. If you are in need of a coupon book for Duluth, or any information of the North Shore, be sure to stop here! The grounds are kept nice, and the bathroom facilities are clean. There are plenty of picnic tables, too. If you're heading north on I-35, take exit 249 for Skyline Parkway. Turn left onto W Skyline Parkway, then take a right once you're over the bridge.

First off, it's a state rest stop, so good bathroom facilities, huge parking lot, and the view is on top of the hill right when you get to Duluth. During the day, you can see the lake (if there's no fog) and get all the travel information you need. There is a dog walking area, picnic areas, and again the view!!!
