Park Square presents consistently excellent work. The selection of plays is adventuresome and bold. The quality of acting is superb. One always leaves Park Square a richer and more thoughtful person. Our last show was "The Color Purple" a bold musical presentation. Few theatres in the country could pull off such a production as powerfully.

We recently re-subscribed to season tickets and are oh so happy. Both the main stage and the new Thrust stage downstairs have comfortable roomy easily accessible seating. The performances are first rate and the tickets are well priced for top of the line regional theater actors and productions. We picked Friday Night preview series, but last night's "Color Purple" musical had a mid-run feel to it! great show, enthusiastic cast. The theaters have been updated and much better than years past. the lobby is roomy and comfortable. The only possible improvement could be the intermission service, 2 servers for a full house is kind of light, but you can take drinks to the theater.

We saw "2 Pianos 4 Hands" and had a wonderful time. The theater is small and we had excellent seats. The play itself was entertaining and well done. We stayed after and enjoyed the question/ answer session.We had cookies, coffee, and wine. It is close to hotels and enjoyable to see live theater. The prices were also good for the quality of the production We will go back if we are in town again.

Yes, the play was called; Four Hands, Two Pianos. This not a large theater where the acoustics are not so good. It's small enough so that no matter where you sit from the Proscenium Stage the sound is clear and true. Listening to two grand pianos played by two maestros was awesome, even from the upper back of theater. The stage lighting is masterfully done with great timing. The concessions available are good selections and you may bring them to your seat (there are cup holders). Parking is easy. I recommend the Macy's Ramp just a block away near the east end of 7th place. For over 3 hours parking, we paid only $3 on a Saturday night (two blocks away they were charging $15). Check out this charming place sometime.

I had heard of Park Square Theatre, but had never been there until a friend offered me 2 free tickets. It was spur of the moment, but it was a beautiful evening for an adventure so off we went. We found parking and walked a few blocks to find the theatre nestled in an area where there used to be a Bridgemans and I believe an old movie theatre back in the day. Also Candyland was right around the corner so we had to stop there. The play was "A Little Night Music" and it was very enjoyable. The theatre had a small intimate feeling. We had great seats, but I don't think any seat would be bad. Now that we've discovered this little gem we will definitely be back even if we have to pay. It made for a very nice evening out.

We attended a show for a Girls Night Out. Excellent seats for a great show. I don't think there was a bad seat in the entire theater.

We have season tickets for plays at Park Square and have been coming here for several years now. The last play we saw (recently) was "Sexy Laundry". ALL the plays at Park Square are outstanding. I can't think of one that I didn't like. The artistic direction is very insightful in theatrical performance selection, stage settings, etc. The genres cover the wide range from comedy to drama. The theatre itself is fairly small (the best kind) and the acoustics are wonderful. I am somewhat hearing-impaired and I am able to hear the voices that carry out to the audience. "Sexy Laundry" was a thought-provoking play about a dysfunctional couple who were experiencing a wide range of emotions - and trying to make their marriage work. The actors were well seasoned and professional. A true joy to watch. There are lots of good restaurants close by and parking is easy. Given the outstanding talent, comfortable venue and entertainment provided, the ticket prices are reasonable and definitely worth it.

I attended the play "Red Box" at the park Square Theater last week and can not say enough great things about this production. Starting with the venue..there are no bad seats, we were three rows from the back in the mezzanine and it provided a perfect view and excellent sound. The production was a Rex Stout murder mystery staged as a play. The actors were perfect for their roles especially Nero Wolfe and his assistant Archie. Watching this show you can see the tremendous amout of work which went into making this a quality show.My wife and I will cwertainly be coming back again especially if they offer another Rex Stout story.

This was a very fun evening. The theater is small and all seats are good. We were late getting tickets and were in the front row which for this play was great. The play was well cast and all played their parts well. The play was really entertaining and the ending not revealed through the play. Nero Wolfe was particularly well cast and played his part well. We have enjoyed several plays at this venue and come over from Minneapolis where we live, have a nice dinner at several nearby restaurants, split some wine with dinner, see the 2 hour play and easily drive home, making for a very enjoyable, relaxed and fun evening.

Park Square Theater is one of the upper echelon theaters in the Twin Cities. And that is saying a lot since the number, variety, and quality of theater companies in the area is quite high. Park Square's season will encompass classical productions like Othello or Cyrano, musicals like The Color Purple or Ragtime, regional premieres of Broadway and off-Broadwayhits like August, Osage County, and new works. A smaller thrust stage opens in Fall, 2014. The all-around quality of Park Square productions make it a great option for entertainment in St. Paul. h.s

Park Square Theatre is a lovely little theater in St. Paul. You should make an effort to attend a performance. The acting is superb. Staff and volunteers go out of their way to ensure your experience is worthwhile.

We do go to lots of plays but infrequently in the Twin Cities because we live in outstate Minnesota. In December we attended the Park Square Theatre for the first time and had a very positive experience. We saw the play about Ira Gershwin that included loads of music and singing. The seats were comfortable and it was easy to see and hear. It was not a gigantic place and small enough to have an intimate feel (unless you were in the vary back rows). The prices were reasonable and getting tickets was easy. They seem to have a nice variety of plays based on their recent history and what's upcoming. We hope to return in the future, maybe this spring for Cyrano!The theatre is right in downtown St. Paul. It's on a one block pedestrian only street and a short walk from Rice Park and some of the best known attractions in downtown St. Paul like the Ordway Theatre, Landmark Center, and the St. Paul Hotel. There are plenty of parking ramps in the vicinity too plus parking meters a short walk away.

Totally enjoyed the performance of Mary T. and Lizzie K. on a Sunday afternoon in October. This theatre is tucked into downtown St. Paul and could be tricky to find for this out of towner, and I could see that parking would be a challenge on the streets or finding a ramp. I was happy to make this first visit to this location on a non busy Sunday. The seating in the theatre is great, comfortable and roomy, sight lines seem to be good from any seat that would be chosen. The performance was top quality in acting and staging. Great to see Linda Kelsey on stage again and to have exposure to another part of the history of the Lincoln family. I will try to return for more performances when in town again.

After attending Sherlock Holmes some months ago, we decided to watch the season more closely. We recently attended the final performance of "Good People" with James Denton. It was VERY good! The reason I am writing this review is to let you know that we sat in the LAST row of the theatre and I was very impressed that the view was just as good as it would have been closer to the stage where we usually try to sit. I believe ANY seat in this theatre is a good seat and highly recommend attending a performance at this "best kept secret" even if you don't get your front and center seat choice. I believe you will not be disappointed!

Park Square is one of the few renovated theaters in Mpls/St. Paul with comfortable seating and leg room. The actors are typically well known regionally and to some extent nationally. Some local playwrights may be presented which is good and bad.Worth a visit for a casual night out. Try Meritage for dinner nearby; parking ample in Lawson ramp.
