Took a drive this weekend to this winery. Lovely area even in the winter. The gal that helped us was personable and friendly. We sampled the Reds and whites. I'm mainly a white wine drinker, generally sweeter. A couple of the Reds were very dry but I no many people like it!! They also had a wine called loon juice....awesome light and crisy!!!! Building is lovely with views to the vines. They do have a menu but this time through we just came for the wine!!

We had decided to spend our NYE here since they were offering a dinner package. The dinner was served in 5 courses and 4 intermezzos. From sipping broth to Crudo Scallop, duck with confit to King Crab Leg and Sous Video Beef. With all the tasty intermezzos and dessert, it was a 2-1/2 hour feast. Then there was the 17 piece big band and dancing. A really good time put on by FDV&W. The building with additions is fairly new and extremely roomy. We will probably be back in daylight and warmer weather. Very nice place.

Several friends and I were attending an event in Rochester, and we came a day early simply to enjoy the special Thursday evening wine pairing meal, tour, etc. at this vineyard. My friend spoke to someone in August who said that yes, there would be this event that particular evening (in Nov). We made arrangements for traveling out of state, childcare, staying in a hotel an extra evening, etc. My friend contacted us when the link was up on the website to register, and a few days later, I registered and paid via credit card. My friend attempted to register a few days later, and was unable to. When she called the winery, she was informed that this dinner was never going to be held, and there wasn't a link to register on the website. I attempted calling several times and could not get through, so I emailed. The reply email was that the person would rather speak on the phone, so I left my phone number. After a few days and no phone call, I called her and connected on the phone. She explained that they weren't sure how this happened, but apologized, took my information, promised to get the check for a refund in the mail. She encouraged us to come visit even though the Thursday Night dinner was cancelled, and said they could do something special for us. She also said she would put a gift card in the mail with the refund. About 10 days later, I did not have the refund. I emailed and she asked for my information again, and said she would get it in the mail the next day. 6 days later, still no check. I emailed again and explained that I really needed that money back. She said it was in the mail. I finally got it, three weeks after I first contacted them. There was no gift card as she had said she would send. This was a lot of work for me to go through to get money refunded for something that was their mistake to begin with! I had to do all the contacting in this situation---no one even contacted me when they saw I had registered for an event they decided not to hold. I understand that mistakes happen, but I was disappointed in how it was handled (several times). My friends and I decided not to go that Thursday due to the customer service, and that it really didn't seem like they wanted to do something special/make up for this situation after all. I guess the only good thing is that I did finally get my money back.

Family Girls Weekend. Great wine, great service, amazing food and atmosphere. Short drive from Rochester, MN and completely worth it. Wine tasting service is an amazing way to truly enjoy experience and the food is easily shared to allow a family to try a little bit of everything.

Stopped into Four Daughter's Winery after seeing it on the road on our way back to Minneapolis. It was quite a surprise to us to see such a large winery so far out there (and in Minnesota, especially). The building is very cool and we first thought it was a church. We both stopped in and had a glass of wine each. I had the GSM 744, a Granache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. It was quite fruity but lighter and very good. I would recommend this if you don't like deeper red wines. My girlfriend tried the Marquette. It was very rich, but medium-bodied red blend. It was very good and would recommend it to red wine lovers. The owner came to visit all the tables and told us more about what they do and talked at length about their restaurant they have on sight. The menu looked great but we weren't hungry. He also brought over a small glass of Sangria on the house, which was nice. It was SO good. I could probably drink a gallon of it and not blink an eye.Would stop by again if we are in the area or near Rochester.

A visit to the Four Daughters provides an opportunity for relaxation while enjoying good wine and good food. The whites and the reds are both great and the food menu has a nice variety so everyone can find something that they will enjoy. Friendly staff!

Do yourself a favor and visit Four Daughters Vineyard and Winery. We did the Thursday evening gourmet dinner and tour with the winemaker. The family is passionate about what they do and it shows. The gourmet dinner is always creative, delicious and meeting their chef Eric who describes what you are eating is a treat. You'll be tasting a different wine with every course, and will have an opportunity to purchase your favorite after dinner. They are located in the beautiful bluff country south of Rochester and it is well worth the trip.

We stopped for a wine tasting and it was terrific! Food is very 'foodie' with interesting combinations and tastes. Service was outstanding and very cool atmosphere. They have dinner nights that we are going to try - $50 for six course dinner including wine. Recommend everyone stop and at least try the red or white wine samples.

It was a great experience. The food was good. Tasting of the wine was excellent. We were given 5 different wines to taste. We could have red or white.

We visited Four Daughters with friends. Beautiful building and grounds. The main building architecture is amazing! Patio was beautiful! We paid the small amount and did the flight tasting. The whites were delicious! We ordered appetizers, sloppy joe nachos and pizza. Both were very tasty. We then each ordered a dessert, which are very good sized. I can not wait to go back there for food and drinks again this fall!

We had driven past a few times on our way to Lake Louise, Mystery cave, and had marked it as a place to stop, and I am so GLAD we did! For $5 we got to taste 5 wines, white or red. We both chose the white, and I would have purchased every bottle! Very different flavors, very enjoyable. We chose the "Best seat in the House" I think - right be the windows, so we could look out over the vineyard, without swatting the bugs who also wanted to join our tasting adventure. We had a few snacks while we "wined" the Deviled eggs with Trout were delightful, we almost ordered another plate of them. The Pot Roast Tacos were a fun twist on a standard. Food was a little pricey - but unique, tasty, and well done. a nice treat.

I was in charge of my sister's bridal shower and contacted Four Daughters 3 months prior to the shower to see what they offer. I was in contact with a woman (not sure if I'm allowed to give names, so I won't) who informed me of their options. I made the reservation to have the private tasting room. Throughout the next few months as I was getting RSVPs back and wondering if we could bring out own cake I kept e-mailing her with questions. To which I never would get a reply for weeks and I had to resend the same e-mail to get a response. I was not getting straight answers on a lot of items, I was getting frustrated and my mother was getting frustrated. I tried to call her a few times as well, but would get the run-around and was told she was running errands, to which I would leave a message for her to call me back (she never did). My mom ended up calling in to speak with the woman who "was there," according to the girl who answered, but my mom was then redirected to the head chef. He was extremely helpful and answered the questions. He also informed us that the private tasting room, which I reserved months in advance, had not been reserved at all. He apologized for the confusion and frustration. He became my go-to contact for the next few days before the shower.Once the shower started everything seemed to be going pretty well. We were to have a tasting, eat, get a tour, dessert and gifts. The tour never happened because apparently the only person who could give the tour was the owner, who turned out to be the very uncommunicative woman I had been trying to contact over the past few months. She said they were far too busy up front. We ended up never getting the tour, but as we were packing up to leave she came in and asked if we still wanted it. She was very awkward and seemed extremely out of it. I was not impressed with her at all and considering she is the owner, she should maybe have someone else take over day-to-day activities if she does not want to be around people. With that said, the employees there, the waiters/waitresses/chefs/etc. were all so friendly and pleasant. They were extremely knowledgable and kind. Waiting for the attendees to show up for the shower I saw one of the waitresses go out of her way to bring boxes of wine to an elderly couples vehicle. The employees are the ONLY reason I gave a 3. The owner needs to either suck it up and be friendlier and more communicative or she needs to hand over the reigns to someone else.

Tough to narrow it down to just a few items to share, there were so many tasty sounding dishes. It was fun to share both the red and white wine tastings for lunch so the experience was well worth going a bit out of the way for. It would be well worth the trip if you were going to Rochester for something else. We routed ourselves back to St. Paul from Lanesboro and we're so glad we did!

It was a very pleasant time. Celebrating an anniversary with friends. Quiet and wonderful service. Smiles are important to me, waitress was full of smiles and telling us about the name and the different wines. Price was on the high end but well worth it. We will go again when in the area.

My daughter and I just happened upon this winery. It looked inviting and new so we turned around and went inside. The red and white wine flight are each $5 for 5 tastings. Our server was very knowledgeable and very friendly. She told us about the history of the winery and learned that three of the four daughters and their husbands are involved in the winery. We met the owner and he was very personable. He told us that they also sell hard cider and a sparkling white wine will be sold this summer. He gave us a sample of the hard cider and it was quite good. We found that some of the white wines were a bit sweeter than we would like but we did buy one bottle of one we did like. Since we had eaten in Rochester, we did not try their food. The menu looked wonderful, creative and reasonably priced. We need to return and try their food as well.
