Excellent walking paths take you throughout the refuge. Speaker on bugs and reptiles brought live specimens. Kids had a great time.

Traveling from Itasca SP, MN to Grand Forks, ND we saw the "BROWN" sign for the Refuge on the hwy. Since I can't resist an opportunity to photograph wildlife my friend and I stopped. As we were entering the refuge we saw a Loon in one of the ponds. I was hoping to get a shot of one and did! Once we entered the refuge we took off walking on one of the many trails. We encountered quite a few birds. We circled back to one of the platforms for more wildlife viewing and were not disappointed. We also stopped in the discovery center and learned more about the wildlife found in this area of the country. A great stop if traveling in this neck of the woods.
