I came here for the Hiking club trail and I really liked the park. It had a certain charisma and charaecter to it that many other parks are lacking. I came on Sunday and saw no one else there. The park features the confluence of the Mississppi and Vermilion Rivers. At this part on the Mississippi it isn't very big but it's very cool looking. It seemed pretty rustic in the camping area but the sites seemed private and spacious. I don't think there is a ranger that works here full time but yopu can purchase a day permit i at the do it yourself kiosk near the entrance. Really overall this was a great park and well worth return trip.

We needed a place to park late at night and sleep to take a break from the driving for our trip. It was easy to find this state park in the middle of the night. Left right away in the morning. Very small park. No showers.

Very nice little park, right on the Mississippi River. We were only one of four groups in the whole park. It has a nice boat landing. The camp sites were large enough to fit a small motor home.Nice hiking trails.

I pulled up to this park on August 16, 2012 and was dissapointed upon arrival. I do not know how the parks are maintained or the number of staff assigned but there is a breakdown. The Ranger Station was not open, but the outside lacked basic upkeep along with the toilets throughout the park were dirty, old dirty. The camping sites looked like they needed mowed and the park lacks the size and amenities of the bigger parks which is unrelated to the lack of upkeep.
