Short hike from parking through tunnel under the road. Place to stretch your legs if you have been in the car for a while. Other hiking trails also leave the same parking lot. Pay attention when walking...stair help but there are many roots and rocks if you are not willing to scramble a little.Picture opportunities exist at outlooks on the way.The falls are beautiful but be careful of slippery rocks if you are trying to get closer to the base of the falls.Remember to pay..access to the parking lot is not free!!!

Breathtaking photos were taken here after our ceremony. It was just me, my husband, my dad, and the photographer (Carrie Woodsum from Framingham MA). We had a beautiful, intimate moment after the ceremony. It was very Zen to go there and catch our breaths before going back to the reception (see my review of the Inn at Jackson).

Compared to the outstanding scenery in the White Mountains, these falls are somewhat of a letdown but if you are in the vicinity go and see what I meant.

Had to walk down many stairs to get to the falls, but it was worth it. Make sure you wear good walking shoes!

Gettng to these requires a bit of a drive from Jackson then a bit of a walk - but its worth it. The views of the falls are really good and you can get close - I got wet taking photos. Its very pretty in that area so lots of options for composition - worth a stop if you have time

The falls are situated a short walk from the car park on Route 16. The path is relatively easy with a set of steps at the end to reach the lower part of the falls. It is definitely worth the effort to see the cascading water that thunders down 20 mtr into the pool below. You get a bit wet if you get up close but it's very exhilarating!Highly recommended.

The fall are a quick hike from the parking area. At the end of the trail you get to experience some amazing views of the falls.

0.3 miles of easy graded hike with stairs, fantastic views of the falls. Mother Natures beauty on full display for no effort, go check it out!

A bit af a rough walk and quite a lot of steepish steps to get there but well worth it. The upper falls are very pretty and main falls and pools quite beautiful.

Ellis River Falls were absolutely beautiful. We parked on one side of the highway and went through an underground walkway to get safely to the other side. It was a bit rocky, and lots of downhill to get to the main part of the falls. Some people had walking sticks to make it easier, but none of us found it overly difficult...you just take your time and watch your footing. There were a few lookouts on the way down and lots of opportunities for great pics. When we got to the bottom it was so beautiful - this looooong falls just streaming down, and you could stand on a rock quite close to get a perfect pic! Climbing back up was a good workout for sure, a fair amount of stairs. My parents in law came with us a few years ago, and they did fine... just took their time. Our friends that we brought this time were really impressed and they totally enjoyed visiting the falls

Maybe a 15 minute drive out of Jackson and then a short walk from the parking area gets you to Glen Ellis Falls. There are a number of steps on the trail and have a couple choices in viewing areas. Plan on an hour and that will give you plenty of time to get back to your vehicle.

we are not hikers but love to walk the path down to the falls area. It's quite a walk back up and well worth the site. You can also explore around rocks and around water too

Ellis River Falls is certainly worth the short hike. The trails are well marked and maintained. A nice, easy walk to a beautiful waterfall.

Started walking the wrong trail at first... So need to read all signs. Yet once we did falls were beautiful ... Yet a lot of steps to go down to see it all

Easily accessible and beautifully maintained. We just had a little extra time to spare so it was nice that it was just a short leisurely walk to see this amazing fall.
