It'll take 10 minutes to check this out. It's a rock under a cage with a statue on top of it. The rock was originally an island in the middle of this channel. Now it's been merged with the land and is a park. Checking out the inscriptions on the rock is really neat. Lots of people get their photo taken next to it in the same pose as the indian.

A giant enclosure sits over the top surface of this rock in the ground, which could be any other rock along the shore. Maybe too many people were standing on it? Don't plan your day around it, I came, I saw, I reviewed it.

You boat by it every time you go in or out of Paugus Bay to the Lake. It is interesting history, but only worth visiting if you are on Weirs Beach with time to kill.

This rock is much better than an anticlimactic visit to Plymouth Rock! The Indian sculpture atop the structure over the rock is modeled on the native Indians that lived and fished in Weirs Beach. ´Weirs´means fishing basket. The park surrounding the beach and channel with boats floating by is very idyllic and great for a picnic.
