Color me clayful is a perfectly located shop/studio tucked behind A&E Coffey roasters, off Rt. 101A in Amherst, NH. The owner is a lovely lady who has other objects for sale (jewelry, candles, house-wears) within the studio, along with a wide selection of pottery (plates, holders, animals, cups, misc.) that is ready to be painted by you. The prices on the pottery vary depending on the size and type of piece you decide to choose, there is also a $6 studio fee which includes all prep, painting materials, plus firing of the piece. If you run out of time during the day to finishing your masterpiece don't worry, the owner/helper will hold your piece at the studio for you until you are ready to complete your work of art (there will be another studio fee of $6 when you return to finish but its well worth it since you do not have to worry about cleanup when you're done). When you are finished painting you can leave everything right on the table and the owner/helper will make sure your piece gets fired (takes a few days depending how many pieces are going in the kiln that day), she/he will let you know when to be back to pickup you're creation. They will also advise that you check on the color me clayful Facebook page to see if your piece is ready, they update the picture of the finished rack daily so keep your eye out so you know when to grab your piece.I gave this a 4 star rating for a two reasons:1. Lack of some minor useful materials/knowledge of material use(compared to you're fired! In Nashua) (transfer paper, sharpies/sketch material, ideas/images/stamps to copy)2. Not always extra paint in stock (make sure there is enough color before you start because there may not be more in the studio)I would highly suggest here over You're Fired! Due to the space available for large parties, and it is not very packed during the day, allowing for concentration on your piece. And the owner is extremely nice and always ready to assist you!!!

Our 4 year old loved the experience, but the prices are a bit high for what you get. Would be a nice change for a kids birthday party.

Having a rainy day with children on our hands, we decided to look for an indoor activity that would occupy, entertain, and be a lot of fun. We found the perfect place in Color Me Clayful, newly opened where children and adults can paint a fired ceramic piece. The place is a good size, open, airy, and bright with ceramic selections geared to both children and adults. There is an abundance of paint choices, brushes, and tables. The lady behind the counter was super helpful and pleasant, and just her cheerful manner made the children happy to be indoors, ready to create their very own masterpieces. (Note: plan for at least three hours if you have small children.) The price of the session for three was $69 for everything. Once the three coats are painted on your piece, they are glazed and fired, the finished products are then put on CMC's webpage for all to see, and can be picked up within a weeks time. One of the nice things, you don't have to bother with the cleanup, it is all done for you. We were told we could reserve for birthdays or any special occasion which we will definitely do. I highly recommend Color Me Clayful.
