This is a wonderful museum which combines interesting current and changing exhibits on local history, as well as being one the best venues for the most significant local artists. It is a great place to visit on an afternoon ( including its fascinating museum store). It is also well worth getting involved in its evening gallery openings, to meet the artists and neighbors.

I hadn't heard of this museum prior to a friend recommending it. We live so close by and it was small enough to enjoy in an hour (or perhaps a bit more). The museum is a great combination of artistic delight and historic education. They also have some wonderful opportunities to engage the public. I am certain we will be visiting this museum again. We brought three generations to visit and we all enjoyed ourselves.

The Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie is a great museum. The ground floor generally has exhibits from local artists and the upstairs has rotating and permanent exhibits on Trenton history. The exhibit on the local pottery industry is exceptional. The museum also offers lectures, concerts, classes and other cultural activities and has a very nice gift shop. All in all, it's a fabulous museum tucked away in a lovely park.

After reading great news reviews I finally made my visit happen. The permanent collection is a well documented view of pottery including MY grandmothers Lenox wedding china pattern! Whimsical and historical view of Americana in the Aprons of Trenton exhibit-so glad I caught this exhibit before it left. The Trenton High School exhibit was an incredible view of history and wealth. I will be sorry to see this leave. Easy to get to location, free and easy parking. I will be back for art openings, all open to the public- I heard great things about these events- Ill give one a try. My favorite thing: The beautiful 1800's wedding gown in the Victorian Room...or maybe the Italianate architecture of the building itself. Ill go back again to see the park in a different season- and take my camera too.

great museum. I loved how the museum combines art and history. Great exhibits on Trenton pottery, and other cultural icons. Great place to get a quick history of Trenton, in such an amazing setting. Ellarslie is a beautiful mansion built in the 1840s and Cadwalader Park is from the same designer as New York's Central Park. I'll be here again for sure. Suggested donation.

If you looking for a quiet, nice friendly museum with wonderful displays, The Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie is the place for you. This museum is located in a safe, beautiful well-maintained park. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. There is a nice little gift shop down stairs and wonderful exhibits on the city's ceramic industry upstairs. They change their exhibits on a regular basis so you can come back year after year. It is a great getaway!

Housed in a beautiful Italianate mansion built in 1848, Ellarslie, the Trenton City Museum, has something for everyone. It has a wonderful location on a slight hill in Cadwalader Park. On the main floor, the Museum has rotating art exhibits of mostly contemporary work. There is also an excellent gift shop. On the second floor is a permanent exhibit on the history of the Pottery industries in Trenton illustrated with some of the Museum's extensive collection. Also on the second floor are rotating exhibits about the history of Trenton. The Museum also offers classes for children and adults.
