There are many opportunities to introduce your children to what it was like to travel on a steam powered train, the way it was 100 years ago. Christmas, Easter, Halloween, each holiday allows you and your family to enjoy the ride again and again.

My family and I had an amazing time on yesterday's ride 12/21/14. It was beyond what we had imagined it would be. The almost 2 hour ride from Long Island to get there was well worth it. It was an experience my daughters and nieces will never forget. We hadn't been able to make it to our original ride date because of an accident on I-78 so my family was sad that we had missed it. Thanks to Chris Cotty and Greg they made it possible to accommodate us on another date. The Chase's thank you both for your help and customer service. We will definitely be back again.

The Polar Express ride on 12/20/2014 was incredible. My family had driven an hour and a half to take the Polar Express experience for the first time only to find there was a problem with our tickets. Greg and Ben worked it out immediately so we were able to get on the train and not have to drive back home. The ride was awesome, the train cars were decorated with lights and my 5 and 7 year old loved all the entertainment and the double Decker train cars. The staff was so accommodating and very friendly. My family cant wait to come back next year!

Our family loved, loved, loved this Polar Express ride on 12/7/14. It was so authentic. The staff, especially Ben & Greg were phenomenal in helping us resolve a ticketing mishap. Our 3 1/2 & 1 1/2 year old grandkids were in awe of this experience. The clean, antique trains added to the authenticity of the ride. The staff was extremely courteous and entertaining. The bakers, fiddlers and elves put on a great show and Santa was more jovial than ever. The professional pictures were great and very reasonably priced. The warmed waiting area tent was truly appreciated. Thanks so much to all the volunteers for making our experience so pleasant. The only sad part was the extremely loud people in our car that made it difficult to hear the reading of the Polar Express story. I highly recommend this Polar Express ride. Get on the mailing list to receive notification for when tickets go on sale in August cause they sell out in just a few hours. We had a problem with their website freezing and lost our first choice date as a result. Would definitely go on this ride again. Also, recommend eating at Pearly Bakers just across the bridge in Easton, PA.

Took my grandkids last weekend. They loved it. Santa was great and they loved the chefs with the hot chocolate!

Rode the Phillipsburg Polar Express last saturday. WHAT A RIDE!Keeping in mindthat this is an all volunteer operation, and not a commercial business, i was amazed at the precise attention to detail. Everything from the clock on the ticket booth, the station sign ans the beautiful decorating in the cars and the spectacular lighting on the sides of the train. The staff was professional and friendly. Santa was great and interacted well with the children. The giftshop was well stocked and had reasonable prices. The train was relativly clean keeping in mind that this is not Disney World and the volunteer staff only has about 8 minutes to tidy up after the previous car load of often messy patronsAll in all the kids were fascinated by the whole experience (including the traveling musicians and the juggler) Great ride, good value for the moneyCan't wait till next year :-)))

My family rode the Polar Express on November 29th. Couldn't have asked for anything better! The staff was all friendly and charming, the hot chocolate was delicious, and my two sons had a blast meeting Santa! The decor in the coaches were all festive and colorful. How a group of volunteers is able to put on such a great performance is astounding! Hats off to them!

Rode the Polar Express at Delaware River Railroad Excursions -- the kids loved it. Us parents are glad we did it ONCE. The Good: Start off reading the book with hot chocolate and cookies. Santa was great. The staff was friendly. Nice festive decor. Trolley to and from parking lot quick and convenient. The Bad: Train ride too long for our kids ages 3,4,5,8,and 10The Ugly: They don't clean between trips. The cars need to be refurbished -- old and dirty. The bathroom was DISGUSTING.If you go in knowing these things, maybe you'll be ok. Worth going ONCE as not as expensive as others and has true Polar Express feel. The kids did love it although the entire time they were asking to buy stuff from snack stand / gift shop... Next year maybe we'll check out the more expensive one across the bridge...

Over crowded and filthy. T sin was not cleaned from rides before. Nothing to see along the way and entertainment was scarce. The best part was Santa come by through. The rest of the time you just say there

Despite being in a strange location the ride was great. Not all rides are pulled by steam however this one was. Good price and nice ride along the river

My son loves trains so this was so much fun for him. The train itself is very cool. Ride took an hour one way then back. Scenic view of the Delaware River. Not too expensive - very nice staff. Would do again

We took our 19-month old son to the RR today for the Day Out with Thomas event. The location itself was easy to get to, however the free parking is about 1/4 mile from the train station (you could pay $10 - a donation to one of various local organizations - to park closer). We walked it with our stroller, but there was a shuttle taking people back and forth as well. We enjoyed the activities before our 3 pm train ride - watching electric trains, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and a petting zoo. There were also bouncey houses and tents with TVs playing Thomas shows. Live bands and a puppet show too. The food was not very good at all - my funnel cake was stale and overlooked, and the line took 20 mins for a funnel cake, a smoothie, and a frozen lemonade ice pop. The main attraction - Thomas the train - was very cool. Looked just like Thomas on TV (and my son loved it!), the train ride was pleasant but very hot. They had the windows open and fans blowing, but it was still pretty hot. Definitely opt for a window seat if you can. Afterward (or before) you could get pictures in front of Thomas and with Sir Topham Hat too! Overall it was a good time out.

I took the historic steam train. I thought it would be a scenic ride but there was absolutely nothing to see. Ok if you have kids but a waste of money if you think you're going on a scenic historic train ride. Later on I was told the only scenic trip is the wine tour. I wish I had known this beforehand.

This attraction is just a train ride as there is nothing else to see in the way of a museum and nothing of architectural interest. The train starts from a picnic area alongside the river, but only equipped with benches and tables, although there is access to the river. The ride was scenic and very well narrated, but the main attraction was the steam locomotive, built in China to an American design.
