From the moment we entered we were not only not welcomed but we were made to feel stupid. It was pointed out that clearly we were new to the place because we didn't get the whole token buying part. And once we followed the protocol, we weren't given any info about the beers, not even given a beer menu and certainly not told much about the beers. Kinda left to our own devices. No salesmanship or seeming interest in building clientele with us as potential future customers. Only attention paid to what seemed to be the "regulars."

I am normally not a fan of micro breweries, therefore my reluctance to visit with friends. I was in for a surprise as I finally found great tasting beers that reminded me of the local pubs in Europe. Great job by the owners. Note that the establishment has a BYOF (bring your own food) policy and there is ample room to bring and eat pizza or a favorite snack. The owners are friendly, prices reasonable and you find a great atmosphere in this little jewel. The times they are open is limited so check the web before visiting.

Craft beer offerings change just about weekly so there is always something new on tap. Beer selection is well planned with just the right mix of IPA's, Rye's, Porter's, etc. on tap. Rich & Vince are always friendly and courteous, even when they have a full house! Very attentive to their customers. Rich and Vince have 30+ years of craft beer brew knowledge/brewing experience and it shows in thier top quality brews . They are both very passionate about the art of brewing! Village Idiot is a brewery not a bar so they are not permitted to offer food but there are plenty of options within walking distance of the brewery. Downtown Pizza across the street offers a vast variety of yummy choices! You can bring the food in and enjoy sipping on a cold brew while having a bite to eat. Great vibe....historic building with perfect brew pub feeling. Punk O'Lantern is the best pumpkin brew I've tasted in a long while! A must visit for the craft beer enthusiast! Best brewery I've visited within the entire state of NJ, hands down! Cheers!

Local microbrewery. Busy on a Friday night when I went. Bring in pizza from across the street and unwind with friends. In Old historic part of town was once the Bridgetown pub. Thte Downtown Pizza across the street is excellent too.

The third stop on our Saturday brewery tour was here at the Village Idiot. Located in a great main-street building in Mount Holly, we spent time talking to the folks, hearing the history of the building and the brewery. We tasted three of their beers--Bridgetown Blonde, Infinite, and Punk o' Lantern. I liked the blonde best while my husband preferred the aroma and finish of the Infinite. The Punk o' Lantern tasted less like pumpkin and more like pumpkin pie spice.

I just had a feeling I was going to like Village Idiot Brewing Company right away as I stepped in there, it sits right downtown in the commercial "walking" district. The place itself is different from every other NJ brewery, from the copper topped bar to the old wooden church pews bearing nameplates from years past. It's one of those things where you feel like you've been invited in and try some good brews while you're at it. I also like that there is an outdoor patio with tables and chairs so you can have a beer while enjoying the weather. This place is my favorite brewery, straight up. I used to live in Colorado and experienced a lot of great small breweries but this place consistently has excellent beer. They never rest on their laurels- every time I go there the beer list is completely different, and everything I try is amazing. Love these guys and what they do. Would recommend it to anyone with an interest in local fresh craft beer.

The service is slow and when I left a negative comment on their FB page I was treated extremely disrespectfully by Vince the next time I went.
