Went to the farm yesterday and picked up an assortment of cheeses and bread. The cranberry/walnut bread is a favorite. Worth taking a trip.....

I moved from NJ to Hawaii and regret few things about the move, however, one of the things I miss, is not having Bobolink close to home. According to Anthony Bourdain, in a No Reservations episode, Bobolink is one of the few dairies that has exported cheese to France. They make artisanal cheeses that are allowed to age using natural environmental means. Therefore, the cheeses taste and look slightly different from batch to batch. That is not an error but the design. One of my favorites, the cheddar, is sharp and has a cakey consistency with a slight bloomy rind. Another masterpiece, the Jean-Louis, has a gooey deliciousness that needs to be tasted to be best described. They also offer uncooked and cured meats from open pastured animals that are tended with care, dense non-preserved breads, and seasonal local specialties. The store is the huge ground floor cellar of a charming rustic farm building in Alexandria Twsp., NJ. Some reviewers seem to be put off by the character of that sort of place - but it is farm country through and through. No it's not Shop-Rite, Safe-way, nor Wegman's. But is that where you look for unique cheeses? I love cheese and have sampled local specialty cheeses in countries that include France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Greece. Bobolink is a wonder! The owners also promote education about autism and cheese making internships. It's a delicious adventure that makes you feel good in so many ways.

This place has been on my bucket list since I saw it featured on Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" a number of years ago. Loved sampling the cheeses and breads and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's a very pretty drive through Hunterdon County. I understand they also do occasional pig roasts. Everything was delicious! Hard to choose what to buy after the sampling. I'll be back!

We stopped here after spending a few hours at Ringing Rocks park. The baked bread smells were wonderful, the cheese was delicious (my 10-year-old son loved the 18-month cheddar), and the staff was friendly and knowledgable. I only wish the outside looked more welcoming and had a patio or other place to sit, eat, and relax.

Excellent service from the young lady working there, though the building is a bit rough on the outside; we even questioned going in. The addition of a few hanging plants outside would go far in making this place more inviting. The cheddar was quite good when we topped out turkey burgers with it for dinner in the evening, and the freshly baked cheese buns they were on made a great meal.

The owner was present when we went - giving samples and explaining each cheese and bread. The service was awesome, the price was reasonable, and the cheese was awesome! Get the cheddar and the duck fat ciabatta. Mmm...wish they were closer!

We went to pick out some bread for a snack while staying at the Bridgeton House Inn and bought some cheese at a local market. We weren't fond of the cheeses that were offered. However, the selections of the fresh baked bread were nice.

They try very hard to make the best products available and to give the public a chance to see how its all done. Very unique place!

Stop by this farm to taste their home made artisan bread & cheeses. The owners will take time out of their normal duties to intro you to their products and have a taste! Wonderful cheese & bread.

We stopped in to buy bread and cheese and loved everything we tried. I felt the prices were reasonable for the artisan nature of the products. We took home a couple of selections and a loaf of bread which we devoured in our hotel room. Wish we lived closer.

I took my family for a nice day but it was a waste of time. The tour was guided by a goth type teenager who seemed like she wanted to be elsewhere. No smile, no enthusiasm, just miserable. Tried the cheese and it was really bad. I know good cheese. I eat and buy great cheese all the time. This was bad. The property was run down and not beautiful or pastoral in any way.

Such an array of things to choose from. I feel like I step back in time when I walk in the farm and get to order and sample cheeses and breads just back in the oven. Its a bit pricey but well worth it if you like great food!

My wife and I took their farm tour last weekend and it found it very interesting. You could told they were very passionate about their work. We were able to get within about 10 feet of the free range grazing cows. On an even better note, the bread they sell is amazing and worth even penny. I wouldn't recommend taking real little children to this farm tour, it wouldn't be very interesting to them until they can better comprehend the whole farming process.

Nice to find this gourmet cheese and ciabatta place, nearby. It is located in a barn. When I walked in, the cheese is set out on the counter and the server was eager to describe it and give me a taste. Only put off could be the price, but I think good local products are worth the price. This cheese is available seasonally, so I am looking forward to the next patch.

Bobolink makes the best bread and cheese on planet Earth and that is why they are in business. We purchased from them when they were located in Northern NJ and we're glad that they've moved to our region of Hunterdon County, NJ. They don't seem to have a clear business plan, the signage is inadequate and I don't think they advertise. The farm looks disheveled and you can easily miss them as you drive by. But, their breads and cheeses are so good that they have a dedicated clientele who are willing to pay the higher prices and return repeatedly. They'll give you samples and assist with your selection. I highly recommend Bobolink.
