Turkey Swamp Park is a very nice park in Monmouth County covering 2173 acres. The wooded park offers trials, (boating, and ice-skating), 17 acre lake, archery, and playgrounds, and camp grounds. The natural setting in the woods has pitch pine, oak tress, fern, pepper bush, catbriar, and blueberry. Many of the plants and animals are associated with the NJ Pine Barrens (like Double Trouble Park), in Ocean County. Boat Rentals are availability and rates...see web siteThe name Turkey is after the historical label for Adelphia, and swamp because of the forest and high water table. The trails in the park mostly level, Bring water and snack, bug spray, and CAMERA.Bathrooms available, not great, not bad.OK.

A 1200 acre park with trails and a lake. trails are quiet and beautiful. Watch out though during hunting season, they allow hunters on the land. A beautiful oasis amongst a growing suburban sprawl.

My first visit to TSP was on a school field trip, and to this day, TSP is still a tranquil place to visit. There are trails for varying levels of ability; bathroom amenities are not too rustic, as you would find in some other parks. Sundays can be an overcrowded day, and I recommend Saturdays instead.

we go to Turkey Swamp Park in all seasons. Paddle boats are fun, paths are safe however may be muddy depending on the season and weather. Our dog loves the trails but there is a lot of goose poop that we have to watch him so he doesn't eat it!

I camped here in a 5th wheel. The roads are narrow and require a lot of care to negotiate in a big rig. However the sites are large, level and private. The park is heavily wooded with good hiking trails . There is a small lake which looked great for paddling, but unfortunately the boat concession had just closed for the season shan't I got there. There are several excellent playgrounds and picnic areas. The rangers ae friendly and very helpful. Restrooms are modern and clean. There are a lot of public lands and natural spaces in the surrounding area. There are also public golf courses and the Jersey shore is minutes away. Good place to camp if you like the outdoors.

What a great place! Rangers are very nice and explain everything if you have any questions. So close the city yet complete silence and peacefulness. Would definitely recommend to friends. We'll be back.

This was the location of my first RV camp out with the grand kids and they had a blast. The campsites are very spacious and you can walk to the play areas, showers, laundry, and lake. The kids enjoyed fishing and riding the canoes and paddle boats (that's because the adults did all the paddling)! Very inexpensive and very safe and clean. Park rangers on-site and plenty of activities including an archery range.

There are trails to walk/hike and a lake to canoe or kayak on. They hold varied outdoors events at different times of the years. There are plenty of picnic tables and a playground for the kids. A gem of a park.

I've been taking my kids to turkey swamp for 10 years. Live close by so this always felt like our home base. When they were small we used the play grounds as they got older they got their introduction hiking. Now we bike on and off road, use the archery range quite often. If it is a cold winter there is ice skating. You can rent rowboats, canoes and paddle boats or fish from the deck or shoreline. Have a picnic or barbeque from one of the many grills. Campsites are also available during most of the year. One of the many gems that make up the Monmouth County Park System.

This park is a awesome space for everyone! Owned and operated by Monmouth county park system, It is very versatile. Camping sites from tent camping to some spots with full electric and water are available by reservations. Very clean, great sites and the rangers do a great job. The lake offers boat rental and fishing in season and a large safe ice skating area when the lake freezes over. Man, well marked trails run through woods and fields make it a good choice for an afternoon or an overnight. A large, covered pavilion is available for rent. I recently attended a family event that over 100 people attended. The pavilion area has it's own parking area. It was quite comfortable for all. A children's playground and sand volley ball court are nearby. Again, this park is very safe and I felt confident that the county park rangers and park staff do a great job of care taking for the entire facility.

From the time I moved here back in 1970 this park was like home base. IN the winter when it was cold, the kids could ice skate, in the summer take a paddle boat out and fish. Picnics and cookouts. The rangers are so helpful with the kids. All of our parks here in the area are amazing.

Turkey Swamp Park has something for everyone - fishing, boating, camping, picnicking, playground, and more. I like to go for the hiking and recently hiked the Old Lenape Trail after work. As with any of the Monmouth County Parks, the Rangers are great and the park well kept. Some of the trails may get a bit treacherous, especially after it rains, but they are all well marked and the map explains the trail ratings. Speaking of map - get a map! I always carry a park map regardless of how many times I have been to a particular park or been on a trail.

They have hiking trails, exercise activities along the trails, playgrounds for kids, fishing, kayaking. The park rangers are knowledgeable as well as friendly.
