Worthington State Forest is a large natural area that runs along the eastern shore of the Delaware River, north of the Delaware Water Gap and is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. While the state forest includes a popular campground, there is much more including hiking, scenic drives, fishing, hunting, picnicking and canoeing or kayaking the Delaware River. While we camped at a different, nearby location, we spent much of our time in the state forest hiking, picnicking and exploring along the Old Mine Road. One of our favorite spots in Worthington State Forest was along the Appalachian Trail as it passes along the rocky Dunnfield Creek with its many cascades, through a dense hemlock and mixed hardwood forest full of rhododendron and wildlife including bears, deer and wild turkeys all of which we got the opportunity to see during our time in the forest.

Four of us visited here this Columbus day weekend. It's a very nice park with wonderful setting. I reserved the last site available which was #13. The location was ideal as it was very close to bathrooms and showers. The facilities were cleaned daily and always had toilet paper. The hot water was great on those cold mornings both for showering and washing cooking items. Having the views of the Delaware River was lovely. Nights were serene. We took many precautions to avoid those furry friends as it's bear territory. Will definitely visit again.

Having camped at Worthington State Forest for over 40 yrs the place never gets old,and wow always come back home refreshed, The staff that worked this past weekend where just great made us feel safe and at home GREAT JOB! we camped with about 30 family and friends on about 6 campsite and we just cant stop talking about the campground and the great time we had this weekend. For the people who have RV's remember that you will be dry camping no water, sewer, electric so load up your fresh water tank and generator and enjoy. Jim R

Typical tristate area public campground. Weekends are full of jerks from the city packing way too many people into a single site and blasting techno until someone tells them to stop. Weeknight are empty except for a handful of retired folks (and people who work weekends!) and awesome. Lots of sites, some right on the river. My car battery died and the park police were right there to give me a jump start and not treat me like an idiot for leaving my interior lights on for too long. Good folks.

I have been coming here for 18 years my family started when I was young. The camp sites are spacious and wooded the staff is always frendly and the place is clean. Keep I n mind that this is rustic camping there is no electric water sewer or dump station so if your thinking about using an rv id have a generator. The new bath facilities are clean with plenty of hot water the only down side is older bath houses have drop "decomposing" toilets. All in all a great place to go to see the out doors plenty to do and see for all ages will definitely be returning.

Beautiful area . It rained before we arrived,so our campsite was very muddy. Apparently a truck decided to do donuts in the site. We found a semi dry spot to set up. The campsite is huge - there were not enough shower facilities for that many people
