route 66 monument

Right in front of the Convention Center on the western end of town on Route 66 is the Route 66 Monument by artist Tom Coffin that was dedicated in 1997. It looks like a chrome tail fin from a Cadillac complete with tail lights and the words "Route 66". There is a parking lot right there so it is easy and quick to get out and take a photo. There are free restrooms inside the Convention Center.If you have time, the Route 66 Museum is located in the back of the Convention Center and is worth a stop if you enjoy learning about Route 66. Right now the "World's Largest Route 66 Photo Exhibit" is on display at the museum (see separate Tripadvisor Reviews) and can be easily seen in less than half an hour.

Sulla Route 66 vicino al convention center si trova questa piacevole insegna, un monumento alla storica strada, bello per scattare qualche foto. Da vedere sembra una parte di auto con tanto di codino e luci con sopra una brillante scritta 66. Passando in zona, carino per una sosta.
