We had community gathering Sunday at Pinon Canyon and everyone enjoyed this place. It has everything you would need for picnic. It's very relaxing place.

Access this great trail in minutes from the heart of Albuquerque. Hike up hidden canyons, climbing to vistas and into stands of pinon, juniper and aspen. Vistas of the city and the western horizon are fabulous.

A beautiful choice for seeing the Sandias in all their spendor. Depending on your fitness, you can go for a short hike or all the way to the crest trail.

If you're looking to travel up the mountain but don't want to encounter rough terrain try the Pino trail. It's a relatively short climb (between 2-3 hours) and offers great views. You can also connect with the Crest Trail at the top.
