I drink wine virtually every day of my life. And I live in Arizona, which has twenty or more wineries, so I know that some excellent wines can be made in seemingly-improbable places. So, on a brief trip to Deming I wanted to see what St. Clair Winery---billed as New Mexico's largest winery---had to offer. I came away impressed with the quality of St. Clair, at least of their "top tier" wines (bottled under the D.H. Lescombes label).And I also came away with a very good feeling about the tasting room and the tasting experience. For a modest $6.00, you get pours of any six wines they make---including high-end ones (wines that retail for $30 or $40 a bottle). "Jennifer," the staff member who conducted the tasting, was a delight---a friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable "ambassador" for the winery.I wound up buying six bottles, and they taste as good at home as they did at the winery.

We have enjoyed St Clair wines for years and were very excited to visit the winery in Deming. Megan was so nice and we really enjoyed the wines we tasted and the ones Megan recommended. Also, Megan recommended a great place for lunch in Deming! It was a wonderful break from the I-10 rat race. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice place to take a break!

A bit of a challenge to locate but worth the trouble. We were greeted by a knowable hostess and sales person who really knew the wines. After tasting a number of wines we purchased four different ones to take with. Tasting fee was waived which was pleasing. They also operate some free standing restaurants in this part of New Mexico but time didn't permit us to visit one of them. Largest winery in New Mexico with a great selection of wines.

Every October the St. Clair puts on their annual wine fest. They are the largest winery in New Mexico and have a large selection of wine to choose from. You may even bring your own half gallon or full gallon jug and have it filled with their signature house wines for a very reasonable price. The fest itself is very small town-ish with food and entertainment throughout the weekend. My daughter loves the Riesling wine and my favorite turned out to be the Mourvedre dark red wine. The event is very light hearted and worth attending.

This was our second visit and we plan to make many more (we live only three hours away). Friendly and welcoming staff (they also welcomed our service dog and poured a bowl of water for her). Very helpful with wine tasting selections. Delicious and very affordable wines. Six dollar tasting fee was also comped with our purchase. Easy to get to, just a few minutes drive outside of Deming.

We stopped by the winery one afternoon while taking some time before a scheduled meeting. The grounds are beautifully manicured. The store has lots of choices of gift items and a wide variety of wine choices. We bought a bottle of winearita, white wine with lemon and lime. It was real good and unique! While there, we saw that they had a video playing about the business. We asked the girls if they'd restart the video so we could see the whole thing. It is a great video and well worth watching. Very interesting. We stop here a couple times a year, and definitely will be taking out of town guests!

Open at nine in the morning, we were welcomed and given the general layout to be free to browse as long as we liked. After determining which ones of the numerous choices wewould like to sample, we were treated to the wine tasting bar, great conversation and a very knowledgable hostess. Needless to say, after a few samples, we were convinced this was the right winery to make our New Mexico wine purchase. And yes, 10 percent off after 6 bottles!!!

We travel to Deming to visit elderly grandparents, but make sure we stock up our wine rack while we are here too. Never have found a better wine anywhere in the country. No matter what you like Sweet, dry or inbetween ... you can't get any better than here.
