Good place to visit on a cold/windy day or just to explore. The staff is very helpful and nice. Also, there are programs during the week. They are expanding this year and it should only get better.

Lovely spot to visit in the summer. The grounds are very well kept, and the little lake adds a nice touch. Nice way to spend an hour or so strolling around.

Nice small botanical gardens and greenhouse in Cheyenne near the Cheyenne Frontier Days Arena. No admission charge and easy parking. Be sure to walk up to see Old Sadie, the historic locomotive, and the one-of-a-kind "found objects" fence around it.

Wonderful setting in a huge park with long walking/biking trails, a lake, playground equipment, pet friendly, and picnic facilities.

I'm quite glad we stopped for a visit. This is a city gem that local residents should be proud of. The green house has solar panels. Nice

Our initial reason for visiting the gardens was to see the Steam Engine 1242, otherwise known as Ol' Sadie. Union Pacific donated it to the city where it eventually found a home at the Botanic Gardens. The engine is surrounded by a unique fence constructed by the last engineer to drive Ol' Sadie. There's an interesting story about how and where he acquired all the artifacts used to construct the fence. Admission to the gardens is free, open daily dawn to dusk. We walked the grounds and enjoyed the various points of interest. There is a little something for everyone here, a discovery pond was a big hit with our family. Don't be put off by the title of Children s Village either. Everyone in our party from 13-65 enjoyed the time we spent here. It was a great learning experience but the Botanical society has gone out of their way to showcase various forms of art. My oldest grandson commented as we were leaving that it was too bad other gardens weren't set up this way to entice young people to become actively involved and interested in flowers and gardening as a whole. My hat is off to these people. Thanks for a great time in your gardens

There is a greenhouse for tropicals. Outside, there are various themed gardens including xeric, rock, rose, community vegetable gardens and a clever boardwalk over a marsh area. I was told by a worker that Cheyenne is a USDA zone 4 - which really limits the variety of plants that can be grown outside. Another worker said that voters had recently approved a 16 million dollar bond issue for expansion of the gardens.

Went with a group so couldn't pick date. Bit too early for many flowers but still beautiful...Very well groomed. Peaceful, Would say a little later visit advised.

This is another free activity to do. Well worth it even though its small. There is a nice bridge with a waterfall, some sculptures around the property and a nice display of regional plants and flowers.

This is a great place to stop and smell the roses. The outer gardens, paths and pond are very well groomed. Very scenic and relaxing. Inside is nice too...small but with a multimillion dollar expansion underway, it will be a real draw.

It was a nice place to stroll around and relax. I guess there was a pretty devastating hail storm that came through a week or so before we were there, but I couldn't tell. I thought it was the heat that was damaging the botany. Nice none the less.

Ill admit Im a flower and garden nerd. One of the main things i expected to do in cheyenne was visit this place. Sadly they were hit with a very damaging hail storm a few weeks prior. Even with that damage, there were a lot of weeds, very few native plants, and overall not innovative or well designed. They need more volunteers and more money.

I was too early for any of the outdoor plants, but the greenhouse was filled with plants in bloom so I had a nice reprieve from winter. I am amazed that this botanic garden is staffed by volunteers, kudos to all of them.

The Botanical Gardens are peaceful and beautiful. Because of the adjacent Lions Park and Sloan Lake, it's a great place to bring your kids...and dogs. Cheyenne is an incredibly dog friendly city.

We visit yearly during Cheyenne Frontier Days. It is well kept and has such beautiful smells. It was damaged by hail and the community got together and helped clean it up.
