This is a beautiful, picturesque park on the Comal River, the shortest river in Texas. Great tubing, scuba diving, fishing and a really nice park area for your family outing or picnic. Charcoal grills are available at most table sites so come for the river, grill up a hot dog or burger and RELAX.

Don't bother coming to Prince Solms Park in New Braunfels Texas. You will not find any parking, ever. We live here and have visited Prince Solms Park many times over the years however New Braunfels has been remodeling the town for years and with each remodel, the City of New Braunfels removes parking spaces.

Very nice, well maintained park. You can rent a tube right across the street for a very leisurely float on the Comal. No crowds during the week.

Great place to enter the Comal. Cool playground for the young ones. You'll soon find their chute is the most fun on the river.

Depend on the time of year, the crowd access to the river for tubing can be crowd. A nice park with open field on street side and park benches & picnic tables with adequate trees on the river side. Adequate access to the river, everyone seems to have fun while lining up to the river access...........Overall, had a good time floating........

Parking fees, I believe $10 were brought back unfortunately. If you are tubing, guess that's OK since you want to be near you vehicle. Unfortunately for me, this is the nearest disc golf course around (9 holes) so when I go, I do some walking. On the bright side, the park is well maintained and near the tube chute on the Comal river.

Today was the first time we visited the lark. We were night impressed with the atmosphere. There were clearly signs that said no alcohol but we are many people drinking. There was also a strong smell of illegal drugs being smoked. it's definitely night a place we'll be taking the kids. I was very disappointed.

This park is the one where you can enter the Comal River for a nice two hour float. There are picnic tables, tennis courts and a disc golf course here also. Great park to spend the day beside or in the river. Lots to do and very well maintained.

We were told this was an excellent place to picnic and spend the day tubing. Parking was a bit of difficult because it is quite busy so we parked across the park(there is an unloading area so you can unload then park). There is a tube chute and tube rental on site however someone else told us to go to one of the other places around there because the tubes that were rented were black in color and we would burn ourselves from the sun while we were floating. We got situated with the tubes, we found a nice spot and camped out. There were bathrooms available for changing but upon returning to our spot we were charged to "use" the spot we were in to picnic even though we were not at a table with benches. Finally after all of that we headed to the step area which is very slippery so beware and we "tubed" for a little while then had to get out because we did not pay to go down the tube chute. We got out, made our way to pay for the tube chute fee then we were able to relax and enjoy the water. There is a lot of weeds and plants floating but the water is cold and clear. This is a dog friendly park so beware because there are people who do not pick up after their dogs. There are plenty of park rangers and police on site.

My husband and I recently moved to Texas and have loved tubing from Prince Solms. There is plenty of free parking and many people around which makes you feel safe. You travel down the river for about 2 hours going down a couple of tube chutes. The river goes around in a horse shoe shape so you only have to walk about 10 min or less to get back to your car. Great fun!!

Prince Solms park is across from 'part 2' of Schlitterbahn (what I call the kiddie area of Schlitterbahn). There are 2 entrances, one next to the tube chute entrance on N. Liberty Ave. (right across from Schlitterbahn kiddie area). You pass the tube chute entrance if you're turning in from San Antonio Street. The other entrance is on the opposite end from Landa Park (Prince Solms Park connects with Landa Park if you keep on driving down the driveway, you'll reach Landa Park). The driveway winds down, around and between the Comal River and Landa Park golf course. Sometimes you may see deer on the golf course! So be careful & wary of deer! The driveway comes out along parking spaces on the left (no parking on the right side). I believe they have restrooms there on the left when you first drive into the parking area. We haven't had the need to use it so unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to that the last time we went there. The parking spaces are unfortunately slanted & pointing from the opposite direction so you have to turn around & come back through to park or you can back in the space or if you have a vehicle that can make tight turnarounds, you can do a u-turn into a space...very odd placement for the parking & incredibly inconvenient. There are 2 sidewalks...one up above and one down below by the water & there are several places to get down to the water...steps & also ramps leading to the sidewalk down by the river. BE CAREFUL! It can be VERY slippery!! I've already slipped & fallen, scraped up my hand & gotten mud on me from slipping down in the muck. There are steps leading into the water as well...perfect for 'tubers' (or as we say down here...'toobers'); the Comal River here actually flows to the Tube Chutes! You can also fish, swim, BBQ or just picnic...there are areas for that as well. Even though the water can be a bit murky, it's REALLY a nice, pretty park to go and spend your day there, just remember to watch your step going down the stairs or ramp & also careful on the sidewalk along the riverside b/c again, can be slippery at times!

Prince Solms Park offers access to the Comal River for floating and relaxing. Picnic and fellowship...play a game of volleyball, tennis or just read a book and bathe in the sun.
