So ona request from hotel staff for things to do, we went to Fort McIntosh and Laredo Community College. We went to the environmental center and got to see some live animals that are native to Texas. Like a miniature zoo, for 4 dollars it was worth it. We also got to walk a nature trail to a view of Mexico. We had a fun time but it is hot, so bring water. Thank you staff!

Old Frontier Fort. Now the remaining buildings are on the campus of Laredo Community College. For anyone interested in wildlife, the Lamar Bruni Vergara Environmental Science Center has some animals on exhibit, plus there are trails where you may find some of the birds native to the Tamaulipan Scrub.
