The Depot District is the host site for several events each year. The streets are blocked off so people can stroll the vendor booths and view attractions such as car & bike shows or on-stage music. The wide variety of restaurants and bars can keep you entertained for hours. Everybody has heard of Buddy Holly and this is where the Buddy Holly Center is located. The Cactus Theater is a must visit when shows headlining local musical talent are scheduled several nights a week (it is a restored movie theater from the early days of Lubbock). The Cast Iron Grill is a favorite place to get some of the best grub and the homemade pies go really fast!

We have attended several functions at the Depot district. Enjoyed walking around downtown area and visiting several restaurants and bars. Was their for Toys for Tots.

We occasionally take visitors to the Depot District to have a few drinks and enjoy some entertainment. It gets quite busy on the weekends and most times it is a fun place to be. It is not a large area so the choices are some what limited, but most folks should be able to find something that will suit them.

The Depot District as great shopping and bars and restaurants. You can get great exercise walking this area. You have Buddy Holly Center and his statue and West Texas Walk of Fame.

We went during the day and didn't see much activity. There was a movie theater highlighting an outdoor concert for later. There are a few bars that weren't too busy and a few restaurants that were busy with graduation crowds. There was nothing to bring me back to the area later on that night.

I cannot agree with other ratings. Have been there 4 times. If you are from out of town, maybe from a bigger or more international city, the depot districts sucks. sorry. Bar hopping is practically not possible. It is just a block of bar(s). There are some ok bars in Lubbock though but the depot district is not an attraction.

Spent a great half day shopping. The area seems to have an eclectic collection of shops including antiques, art, glass blowing etc. Weekends during summer offers a street fair type combination of fresh fruit and vegetables, plants, artisians and whatever. Numerous restaurants with one featuring a brewery.Of particular interest was the award winning McPherson Winery and tasting room. Our out-of-town guest even ended up taking several cases back to Colorado.

On the weekends this is where the students hangout. There are a lot of different clubs, bars and restaurants. It can be fun for adults too if you find the right places! La Diosa is in the Depot and it's a fantastic place for those not wanting to hangout at the bars/clubs.

Fantastic!! this is a very romantic atmosphere, the waitress Lexi and London were very professional, never had such a wonderful experience.

This is what I feel makes Lubbock a small city and not a town. How often do you see this many fun bars in a town? EXACTLY!A must-see for Lubbock!! :)

We look forward to eating at Triple J on next visit

There is the Cactus Theater, Triple J's Chop House Restaurant and a plethora of dance clubs, other eateries and such.

The heart of downtown Lubbock is becoming a gallery, restaurant, live music mecca for the western half of the state.Anchored by the Buddy Holly Museum which is in a former train depot--hence the name, the Depot District, this entertainment scene is the place to be in Lubbock. The first Friday of the month you'll find the First Friday Art Trail where trolleys and your feet can take you to gallery after gallery. Often times you'll find libations and munchies at many of the art venues.A new attraction to the Depot District is MacPherson Cellars which is pretty cool to have an in-town winery. There's live music everywhere from folk to Celtic to blues to country to metal.Several good restaurants round out the Depot District scene and of course, there's usually local live theatre nearby, too.
