Whether you live in Houston or are just visiting, if there are kids in your house this is a great place to visit. There is tons for the kids to do. And not to forget the adults can also enjoy themselves in sections like paper rocket and parachute building sections. And the best part is the kids are exhausted by the time you leave this place leaving you with plenty of quiet time afterwards :-)

one of the hidden treasures in Houston Tx ,very family friendly and well priced, but also many free events and days during the week. If you have a family with children 2 thru 15 this is a must on your list.

Completely understaffed for the amount of people they let in. We were waiting when they opened in hopes of a fun filled day, during which time a security guard stepped out and asked my daughter not to play too close to the kid statues outside. We apologized and resumed waiting. No big deal until I realized that it would end up the highlight of her trip and the only thing she didn't have to fight for. The place was so overrun that unless you have a pushy, self centered child that was never taught to take turns your kid can't do anything. We waited in line after line just to have things taken from us everytime we got our shot..many tears. I will always teach my child to be respectful of people and property but without any staff enforcing rules or monitoring lines its every 5 year old for themselves.

A great place for kids birthday party. A little bit pricey but the kids enjoyed it. The staff were great and helpful. Dont worry about parking, just use the parking garage because you can get it for free or discounted they will give you a coupon for parking. So dont use the side streets to park . You are better off in the garage

Good place to take the kids for a few hours to enjoy some play time. Not really a museum it's more of a big play area for the kids. Plenty of things for them to do. If you have little toddlers I wouldn't make plans to go if its just them, not much they can do. Top floor has an area for infants/toddlers, but not worth the money you pay per head.

I bought a citypass for Houston. For the pass, you have to choose between fine art museum and children's museum. I knew I was not interested in fine art, and I like museum exhibits for example Lego exhibits like the one I enjoyed in Chicago. I chose to go to the children's "museum" in good faith. When my husband and I arrived we were asked for id since we had no children with us. I felt uncomfortable to be asked like I was a criminal. I am a doctor for goodness sake. They scanned them and who knows what else in a back room, and we were presented with special photo id sticker to wear at all times. I care about the safety of the children as much as anyone, but simply not having children is not an indicator of ill intent. Perhaps all adults should be scanned. We took one walk around the place, and decided to leave within minutes, partly due to our treatment on admittance and partly due to it was not a museum with exhibits but a large play area for small children. I do not recommend this to adults. And I find it misleading to call it a museum. In addition, I am going to contact the city pass people to let them know that I was dissatisfied.

This is a fun place for children. It has different sections within the museum that provides learning opportunities through play. It is free on Thursday afternoons from 2 PM until closing.

great place for kids up to 9-10 yrs old. They have just multiple options to work with, we ran out of time but we had great fun in the day we visited.

I brought the kids and their cousins while visiting family in Houston. They absolutely LOVED it! We will go earlier in the day on our next visit because we just ran out of time trying to take it all in.

This is a fun and interactive family experience that combines science, art, physical activity and education. Just the right size for a fun day.

This place is great but crowded- be prepared to let the kiddos walk around and store that stroller. There are things for all age levels but older than say 8 and the kids might get a bit bored. There are permanent activities and also leader lead activities- still you need to be next to your child at all times because of the crowds. We used our ASTC (travel passports Institutions nationwide) and got in free. We had a family membership from Intrepid Museum in NYC.

This is one of the best children's museums in the US. Beats out the 2nd best in Portland Oregon. Everything in this place is interactive and interesting for all age groups. Bring good tennis shoes. Food is good and not too expensive. Parking is available in paid lots - not too much room in Urban setting for parking. Kids leave with a very good experience. Areas outside and inside for all.

As a member of the Children's Museum of Houston, it has become our go-to spot when the little ones need a diversion. A wide variety of activities and areas make it a different experience from one trip to the next. Special events can be remarkably crowded, and parking can be a little bit of a hassle, but even on the busiest days I have been able to park within a few blocks of the museum. Check their calendar before you go to make sure you're not in for more than you bargained for. Anytime school is out for a holiday, you can bet this place will be jam packed, but that only speaks to the quality of the museum and the how much children love it. Keep up the great work!

My grandson loved this but for adults it isn't that great. But seeing him enjoying himself made it all better.
