This is a nice campground for a short stay. Not many facilities unless you fish. Bathrooms are old and not really very clean.Good weekend get away. Next to highway but no highway noise.

My family and I have been driving to Woodway Park every morning around sunrise in order to walk a few laps. We go to Park II, the section which boarders Lake Waco. Whether you are a student, a resident of Waco, or are just visiting, this is a great park to explore. It doesn’t have much in the way of amenities, but it is well-maintained and it has excellent scenery. Typically, we walk three laps, which is the equivalent of about 2.1 miles. We like it because there are a variety of elevation changes along the path. Occasionally after walking our laps, we have a picnic on one of the concrete picnic tables strategically located along the shore of the lake. The other day, we explored the shore and found evidence of small bon fires. I’m not sure if you are supposed to have one, but this would be a great place to hang out with friends and have a small bon fire along the shore.
